Hi guys,

i was wondering if someone already owns the video assist from black magic. And what the quality is if you record straight to proress 422 on the video assist. Is it kinda soft like when you record internally on your 5D3? Or is it sharper?
Is it even possible to record in MLV/RAW straight to such a davice?

thanks for the great response. Although im a newbie to all this i try to find out a workflow which fullfill my needs. The workflow you describe i came across several times. Like you, exporting your washed out footage to prores 4444 and 422 for quicker editting. I really dont understand that part. How can you tell resolve after you made your edit in premiere (for example) with the 422 files that it has to swap them with the 4444 files?
Do you have a link to a tutorial for example? Or did you found out yourself?

I only lost you at the part that you say: washed up colors and contrast (log-c imitation by cinelog) ... no idea what you said there. hahahah.
Could you describe, step by step, what you did to your raw footage? From the part that you converted the files to DNG's and imported them to Resolve?

Still no luck with the dots. Although it gets better, i still have a few stubburn dots who won't go away.
Here you see a little footage of my little Alaskan Malamute puppy, but as you can see clearly, it has a white dot, and to the east a very green dot. No one has this problem before? Again, its a real pain in the *ss to find out here on the forum.

By the way, here is a screenshot of some blue pixels/dots. Anyone got a solution for it? An aplication some ppl here mentioned, but that didn't work.

The blue dots seem to appear in very dark area's/shadows.

Does anyone had problems with colored dots in their RAW footage? I've already posted a question about it, but the awnsers are a bit unclear for me, since im just starting with ML.
I've shot with the latest version of ML and with [NewMem]. But my footage turn up to be 'color dotted'. After procesing them in ACR most of the dots are gone, exept for 3 dots, one white, a yellow one and a purple one. Here is the link to the RAW video i shot of my dog, maybe you guys know what to do. But i have opened a raw file in photoshop --> camera raw and there the dots are way different then on my screenshots.

Hi people,

its my first time on this forum since im a beginner in dslr video shooting. I came up with ML through a friend. After reading and reading how to install the main version of ML and the nightly build to shoot raw, i shot my first raw video today on mij Eos 600D.
But i've got this strange patern of collored dots in my footage.
Like this:
(sorry don't know (yet) how to add a picture, have to look into it)
The dots are red, green and purple.

I've downloaden the latest version of ML and the nightly build ive installed was 600D[NEWMEM].zip. Installed everything also the activated the modules. But when filming in whatever size, i shot in 892x508 as a lowest, all of the footage came out with those dots. Does anyone has a suggestion for me how to fix that?
