I've tried but it doesn't work.

Hi there,
i'm messing with projector anamorphic lenses atm & my monitor only has a 2:35 stretch function...Problem is i thought ML would display the same way it does on my 650D on the monitor, but the anamorphic settings actually don't. My anamorphic lens is a 2X.

So is there a way to send a desqueezed signal through Hdmi for external monitors with no desqueeze (x1.33, x1.5, x2) ?
I tried in Raw recording too but it doesn't send a de stretched image either unfortunately.

I know some monitors have this function (Smallhd AC7 or recorders like the Shogun for example) but i have a Aputure VS2 Fine HD which is ok for the price (especially the 1080 screen) and wouldn't like to buy another one like a used AC7 and go back to 720 resolution as it's for focus pulling (and framing too but i guess the resolution drop isn't that problematic for that).

Can anybody confirm that in video mode, shooting at 24fps, you can only set your shutter to 1/45 (instead of 1/48) ?
It doesn't seems to cause any banding effect though...

Here's another possible bug i found : i've been doing bracketing with ML, my main exposure was 30 seconds (it only happened with such a long exposure time, but i haven't test Bulb as main),
so 30 seconds for the correctly exposed one, 3 bracketings, iso off, so to have the over exposed one, ML turns to Bulb, but it stays on a black screen at the end.
Most of the time, i would simply turn the camera off and the canon firmware would say that one picture is still saving, then 2 seconds then sensor cleaning then off.
I put the camera on & the picture really is there and had finished a while ago, but it stayed on the black screen...

Has anyone some experience with Day to Night (Holygrail) Timelapses with the 650D ?

I see there's only the manual ramping option so far. But as it takes much time to test it in a real situation, with a possibly unusable sequence each time...I'd like some advice to be more effective.

For example, how much steps would you set it to when beggining shooting 1 hour before the sunset ?
It seems that activating ETTR is also a good idea.
I'll maybe test it meanwhile, but would like some experienced users to help me too...Thanks !

Just a few bugs i encountered :

-The ISOless PH err(2) is still there when i activate Dual ISO in M Mode. Starting in P mode and then moving to M mode works.

-I shot a few hyperlapses with the ghost image function (which is great btw !) and sometimes it crashed displaying a code screen. I had to restart the camera, i'll try to take a screenshot of it next time and post it here...

I just noticed that i was looking for the "delay before starting to shoot" function in the bulb options,
so i've found it in its right section which is the intervalometer of course...



Here's a little video i made with ML on my 650d (no specific options used, just the tools for exposure, framing & such)

Nothing really special here, no raw or specific option used. Just a couple of shots i gathered during a few weeks...

Shot with a Canon 650D, and mostly a Tamron 70-200 2.8 macro...

Seeing this advanced intervalometer feature, i understand those options are not available for the 650d.
Anyone knows if this will be available in the future nightly builds ?

sorry if this has already been noted somewhere...

but i was really happy with the 3 seconds timer (before actually shooting) for the bulb option (really handy to avoid shakiness when shooting long exposure without remote).

It doesn't seems to be implemented anymore...

Thanks David, i really never shoot in 720p so that was a bit surprising !
But still, Raw on those cameras is clearly amazing (ML Team / Alex is incredible), what you can pull out of it is great.

Just to say i froze my 650d just by zooming in raw mode (digital zoom to focus) and launched the recording, it froze it & i had to remove the battery and power off / on. I hope this helps if this isn't a know bug. Thanks a lot anyway to the ML team for their unbelievable work...!

First test in 1280x720 - 24fps

Far from perfect (also the workflow was really annoying too) but would now love to have a 5dmk3 and playing with 1080 raw because coming from 1080 h264 to 720p even in raw is a bit of a shock...!

Spider, what exactly do you call digital dolly (your video in the previous page) ?
Because, it has always been possible with a simple picture and some after effects simple movement, but i doubt you're talking about that. Is there a way to move the crop region in movie crop ?
I looked for the wiki's page on that subject but always ended up on the cropmarks help page...Any idea ?

Hi everybody,
i'm having problems installing this build for my 650D.
I used to have a 550d and i installed magic lantern fine.

I followed the first post's intructions,
but downloaded the latest file :
magiclantern-v2.3.NEXT.2013Nov08.650D104

The camera says there must be some upgrade file to work,
when i try to launch the ML install.

Also, when i ran EOScard on Windows, everything was unchecked, i tried several times to low level format, reset my camera preferences (btw what's strange is that the custom menu is still here with what i had customed though) and put again ml zip file's contents on the card, but nothing works. I upgraded to 1.0.4 and followed the instructions. Any ideas ?
