Is there any way to install the code from the nightly build w/o using the .FIR that enables the bootflag? I am a developer (although only a lowly .NET C# one), so I could probably muddle thru creating my own custom build if need be -- with some guidance on what I need to change.

I imagine you'd have to set the bootflag to use any of the modules (e.g raw video), because I thought I've read that they require a reboot to become active. But it would be nice to get some of the other improvements and additional features of the nightly build.

QuoteWhat card did you use for 720p in TL?

SanDisk Extreme 32 GB SDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Flash Memory Card 45MB/s

To be more specific, I could get 720p in the TL build only in crop mode with FPS Override set to 24FPS. If I enabled Magic Focus, even in TL, I had issues (not that it matters, since Magic Focus doesn't work right in crop mode anyway). Focus Peaking enabled didn't seem to pose any problems.

Thanks for the great work!

I played around with the 12/31 build for a while. While continuous raw recording at 720p worked pretty consistently in TL, with this build, I couldn't get a raw recording more than a few seconds.

I feel like a beggar that has been given a free steak dinner and then has the gall, to ask for dessert. But I can't resist. I will say "Thank You! Thank You!" first at least.

One of the biggest challenges that I seem to have with shooting video is focusing. I'd like to be able to use a combination of autofocus and manual focus. The AF+MF works fine for stills, but not so much for video. I'd like to be able to use the half shutter to autofocus, but then rely on manual focus as my subject moves. You can't do that unless you're holding down on the half shutter for the entire shot. It seems ridiculous that Canon doesn't engage manual focus anytime I twist the focus ring on the lens. Is this a limitation that ML could easily overcome?
