Yeah you should never go past 50 on any settings. :-[ You need to expose better remember your ISO is baked in so by pulling up the exposure you will just introduce more noise and banding your stressing the DNG this is video not photo's. Watch those highlights too, otherwise you lose color detail. Just because its Raw doesnt mean you can work miracles in post. WYSIWG turn on zebras and use the waveform when you shoot, expose correctly and a little work in post will shine. Dont be afraid to use high ISO'S its better than pulling up the exposure in post.

Hey buddy :o. Have you tried using a fast SD not a CF card for recording RAW also CF cards like Komputer bay cause problems Lexar is one of the good stable solutions. Run a benchmark test on both SD & CF. Also make sure you have read the settings guide correctly. For example turn off Global draw have pics set on Raw small only not jpeg&Raw. Turn off Noise reduction, disable highlight priority or any other taxing settings. Overheating shouldnt be a problem I have ran the camera in 100 degree weather and recorded 1080p fine. If you have to shoot at 1800x? then upscale. Also just because its the latest build doesn't mean its the most stable Alex Raw modules are still more stable than MLV.

4k is overrated. Yes it does help but 1080p with a high bit depth and higher fps is more important than 4K with a wimpy 8/10 bit codec :(. This new camera also needs some type of heat dispersion since Canon DSLR's that shoot RAW heat up after 15mins and lead to ugly noise. Must have uncompressed HDMI out or utilize 3GSDI out to get a better codec with something like Atomos or Gemini.

General Help Q&A / Re: 5D3 ML Temp Accuracy

The camera will display a miniature red thermometer when its time to shut off or it will automatically shut itself off before it overheats. Take the CF card out let it cool and open the CF door let the heat out. U should be fine Ive overheated mine many times. ML heat figures are usually correct but readings can be thrown off on ocassions.

Sounds like U got frame rates mis-matched

Tragic Lantern / Re: 7D Raw Thread

Could be a couple things wrong. Tungsten 50hz sometimes creates flicker using 1/28 or 1/30 shutter helps the cycle from flickering but doesnt stop it, you can thank CMOS sensors for that. 2nd issue may be messing with the sliders on AE-ACR don't mess with anything on the first page but white balance. Maybe this will help.  FYI 24fps has tendency to create problems on 7D with skipping try using 30fps with fps override on low light.

On mac you can use RawMagic to convert to CDNG. On Windows MLV2CDNG

Hold ctrl & E (pc) or (Mac) command & E . It opens ACR to edit original file

When in doubt pull the battery out.

Feature Requests / Re: Lock 180 and 90 Degree Shutter.
October 19, 2013, 06:09:02 PM
This is a good idea but it needs to be an add-on feature that can be disabled or enabled in menu. Depending if your using PAL or NTSC when under fluorescents, T.V. or 60hz pulsating lights you are forced to move the shutter to 1/30, 1/28 (NTSC) so the flickering is isolated :o. Locking the shutter will ruin all run & gun night shots.
