Many people don't seem to realize that the bottleneck in these cameras is not necessarily the card speed but rather the speed of the CF controller chip.
The very same CF card that in my 5D3 writes at over 100mb/sec, when placed in the 5D2 can barely achieve 80mb/sec. This has got nothing to do with the card, and everything to do with the camera.
This is also why we keep seeing incessant new threads about building CF and SD RAID arrays, or CF/SD to USB converters so that we can hook up an external SSD drive to record to. They all miss the basic point that it doesn't matter.
For what it's worth, even the Blackmagic cameras skip frames if the media isn't able to keep up with the write speeds (although in that case, it is a media-related issue).

I've searched everywhere. I'm sure everyone says that though.
Traditionally, I've been using ML 2.3 with the most recent RAW module plugin for my 50D supplied from here: http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5586.0
I always shoot my Photo and Video in Manual. Always.
I decided to try the most recent nightly build and was thrilled to find that RAW Video capability was built into the ML firmware! The new font is shiny too.
I was not thrilled to find seemingly different and frustrating shutter speed options. The top of my camera currently reads at 1/50, (as I shoot at 23.976 fps for the extra resolution, so 1/50 fills the 180° rule), and when taking a photo, the exposure is always correct as I adjust through ND filters and aperture / ISO settings.
BUT in Live View it reads a completely different shutter speed and the Live View picture is whitewashed when shooting outdoors, (even though photographs I take with the same settings are exposed correctly). For example, the camera is set to 1/50, but in live view it will read as 1/92 (or any number it would like to). In fact, even when I adjust my aperture I've found that this number changes. I'm not certain of how my frames are being exposed. I also get confusing readings within the ML menu, like "1/92, 94°." When this value is changed within Magic Lantern, my photo settings change on the top of my camera as well. It also appears to loop around through settings when I rotate my click wheel far enough.
All in all, I would like some help in setting an accurate solid shutter speed for 23.976 fps raw video recording, and an understanding of what these units represent. Do I follow what's on my camera's top display or what ML tells me?
Regards and much thanks, ImagineFlight

I understood all of that. The big problem is constantly hearing one side say how terrible and unsafe T_ is and yet I keep saying I have used every new build everyday and I never had any problems. Yet no one from ML wants to discuss that openly and then maybe rethink their general public statements. We now have a poster (more than likely he is not an M, 6D or 7D user) claiming his loyal faith to ML and he will always believe anything ML tells him. That is sort of pathetic from my view. Maybe he missed my posts in the past about how it never hurt my camera in anyway. Probably no will will see any posts with all the T_ threads closed and hidden now. I am still wondering about this open source if old threads keep getting closed and then censored.
I am asking ML to show actual proof that T_ has caused anyone to have these unsafe things happen they claim. Because it sure has not happened here on my M camera withg every build since last July to date.
I am happy to see at least some people speaking out more on this and a little bit of discussion being made openly.

Well, trying today the last nightly ML for the 7D and didn't yet have the fps override. So making some tests in 2.35:1 and trying achieve higher frames rate Im using NTSC but changing the fps in canon menu just have 60fps with this the MLV files stay corrupted/pink... So without fps override i change from NTSC to PAL and change the fps in canon menu to 50fps and recorded a clip.
I did the MLV2DNG, open After Effects and the dng's, AE assume 30fps i just need new interpretation and change to 23,976fps and everything went good. Ok slow motion without corrupted frames or with fps override ML tool.

Thank you so much for this link. So, it's possible, at least to getout/attenuate the banding/pattern noise.
"Fixed pattern noise can be removed. By making a template from the average
of 16 identical blackframes and subtracting it from the image most of the fixed pattern noise is removed...
The residual variable component of pattern noise consists in this example largely of horizontal banding noise."
My dumb questions is:
-I take 16 black frame pictures with the cap on but then how i process the MLV file for process the subtracting?
-If i take this 16 photos/blackframes for subtracting and get out the noise pattern, can i use this for other 7D models? Or witch one have there own noise pattern?
What i can see for a easy solution/workflow is some kind of GUI with/in MLV that you can upload the 16 photos for subtracting, no?

Yes I found it and remember now when the programmer started on this. Have you tried it? Thing with dslr controller is that it really gives all kinds of abilitys changing focus, iso, shutter, etc plus a good liveview

Where,s that app?

Does somebody knows what happened to dual iso video on the 7d?

Quick worst-case scenario test frame grabs with and without VAF-7D. (1728x972). Residential window screen. Not exactly same focus, but works for a reference idea in case anyone's more curious about how the filter works:
