ok slightly off topic to this ML version but is related (and not answered on the 1st post)
in the UK we use PAL aka 1080p/720p 25fps
in the US they use NTSC 30fps
(forget 29.97 and 24 etc i'm talking 70D here)
The 70D will not go lower than 1/30 in movie so it's obviously designed for NTSC with a pull down arrangement added for PAL
My question: would we in PAL regions not be better to shoot in NTSC 30fps with 1/30th sec shutter and then pulldown in AE/Premier etc?
I ask as we can get RAW 720p 25 or 30 within SD bandwidth
Even further would be, if shooting for the web why not just stay in a 30fps / 1/30th workflow all the way? (with i7s and SSDs the days of cutting every unneeded frame and Hz aren't worth it any more plus HD means PictureAlwaysLousy and NeverTheSameColour is really all it means now)
anyone done much testing?I ask as is there any point in keeping any PAL/25fps ML settings in a camera that won't shoot at 1/25 or 1/50 etc anyway?
