What is the best way to use Auto ETTR with a Controller plugged in?

I just bought a Rhino Timelapse slider with motion. http://rhinocameragear.com/collections/time-lapse-sliders

The motion controller for the slider syncs with the camera Via Bulb Mode on the Canon 6D. I want to use Auto Ettr for day to night shots, but i also bought the slider to add motion to my timelapses. Anyone know if there is any possible way of enabling Auto ETTR to work in Bulb Mode?

As of right now The slider doest sync properly in Manual Mode. And i am not sure if they will ever update the firmware for that.

Usually my workflow is to run a timelapse with Auto Ettr and then do a pass of Deflicker in Bridge in post before i export a video.

Do you think if i just shoot a timelapse with no Auto Ettr the deflicker pass in post will be enough to compensate for flicker?

Any help or workaround would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Love it... was the Cinelog univeral Full grade LUT the only one applied in this on top of the Cinelog?

Thanks for sharing @blainesuque & which lens did you use for this gig?

Yes , this was the only lut applied on top of the log masters. No adjustments made except a white balance adjustment via the Fast color corrector with in Premire effect tab. The lens i used was a Canon 17-40mm .  Thank you! loving the results!

So by default my multiprocessing is turned off on both my MBP and my MAC pro. I tried them both with Multiprocessing turned on and also turned off. Still got the same error (note it did take a second to render then the error came. Unlike before the error came up right when i clicked render).

My Mac book pro has 16gb RAM

MY MAc PRo has 16gb RAM

Here are a couple of screen shots, but idk if it will help. I think it is a problem with either OSX or Creative Cloud.

MAC book PRO

sorry for double posting  ::)

Yea i have everything set-up the same as you @reddeercity

I have downloaded the link of pro video codec you linked, and still nothing.

I downloaded a copy of the Compressor 4 and still nothing.

I had Adobe on the phone as well and still nothing haha...they said they would call me back if they figure it out.

I have no clue whats going on , i feel i have tried everyones suggestion, and i am still getting the same error. Everything is updated as well. The last guess for me is because i am on Yosemite, everyone else seems to be on a different system still.

Note, in compressor i can export prores4444xq. Its just in my Adobe Apps when i choose to render out Proress4444xq i get the same error

Does anyone know how to export our cinelog C Masters to prores 4444XQ from AE? i was able to get the option in the codec choices tab, but i get a error when rendering out 4444xq. Project settings are 32 bit float.  but i am on yosemite 10.10.2 which i dont think should make a problem but maybe?

I get the error Codec Compression Error

I took the component from FCPX and put into my quicktime folder , i also installed compressor 4 and it works in compressor but not in AE.

OK.

Yes i have a Creative Cloud and my After Effects CC 2014 is constantly updated.

I dont have a full version of apple product, i went the 30 day trial route and grabbing the AppleProResCodecEmbedded.component and putting into my quicktime folder.

Did not get an update for ProCodec for Apple.....and you link me to that?

Never worked for me, just tried it for the first time 2 days ago, as i was suggested to do so by Cinelog to Log archive my ML RAW files.

I didnt copy all the components to the folder just the one specific prorescodecembedded. i will try to copy all and see if that makes a difference.

I am working 32bit float project settings.

I cant find it in Premier so havent tried exporting from there.

My disck Cache is 50gb and only have about 500mb used.

Multiprocessing is checked off.

Thanks for the suggestions, still not having any luck....I am going to review your response and try anything i havent already. Please let me know if there is anything else you can think of to help. Thanks again!

Hi i am getting the : After Effects Error: Rendering error while writing to file.  Compression format error (-1610153454)  when rendering out from AE with the Prores 4444 XQ codec. Every other codes works fine.

I did everything correct, but i am not on osx mountain lion, i am not on Yosemite 10.10.2. Is this the problem? i dont want to downgrade my system.

Ok i would like to go back to 113 firmaware and stay updated on the constant builds i see being put up. Does anyone have a direct link download for the 113 firmware for mac? i cant find it anywhere in its correct format.

Hi all,

Ive been checking back every now and then to see if there has been any updating for canon 5d mark 3 123 build, and it seems like they stopeed in august of 2014 . but i noticed that theres constant updating builds for the canon 5d mark 3 113 build. Do you suggest to use the 113 firmware and build primarily for RAW video? and is there any talks of the new firmware 133?

This is my new short surf film " FLush" from indonesia. All shot with a Canon 5D Mark 3 using Magic Lantern Raw Video.

Workflow - PS files to RawMagic to After Effects then exported and edited within Premier.

when i am deflickering or ramping, is there a chart i can look up for the percent of start and end. I have trouble figureing out how much the numbers i enter are going to affect the sequence. Maybe the minimum and maximum for starts and ends for the Deflicker and ramps? Anything you guys can refer me to, so i can learn the right numbers to enter. Thanks!

This appears when ETTR can't access the raw buffer.

What camera? (I no longer have the CR2 files to find out)

Can you find the steps to reproduce it?

I had to delete for space. But im using the Canon 5dmk3 113 5/20/14 build

I am going to try it again this evening around sunset to see what it does.

I deflickerd my sequence in bridge using the script before bringing into after effects. Maybe that resized the images? because after 155 the rest of the sequence is at the cropped size.

When i pull my sequence into ACR and adjust, thats when you can really tell. Infact i just check both image sizes in photoshop and 154 is 3960w X 2640h  AND 155 is 3960h X 2228h

do you have any idea why this is happening?
