I am sure I saw the red recording light turned when I shot on before but after re-installing the config file it doesn't turn on now. The file records fine and I can see the red light on the bottom flashing, but the red tiny light on top doesn't turn on.

The light turns on when I shoot in other modes. It is happening only in RAW shooting.

Did anyone saw this phenomenon before? Any clue will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

I can't thank you enough!! That did it.  :D

Good night my friend.

I did set the Canon Menu to Auto and went back to MK but I don't any audio recording option/menu in ML. By rebooting I meant turning the camera off and turning it back on. I don't see any reference to AGC in ML anywhere.

Funny thing is that it worked even yesterday! I may have inadvertently turned something off somewhere! I appreciate your effort to help me.

I also noticed that no sound comes out of the on-camera speaker (however small it is). I can hear the audio when I use a headphone.

In Canon Menu under Red Camera I see Sound Recording and it is set at Manual. I believe that is the only place I saw to turn off sound. I don;t see any other place or switch to turn sound on!

Under which tab is it under? I don't seem to locate it! Under Audio (1st one) I only see:
Speaker Volume
Beep, test tones
Sound Recorder

Thanks.

Hello,

I am having a strange problem in my 5D MK III. I have been using Magic lantern for more than 6 months now without any problem. But all of a sudden when I record in any mode (not RAW because there is no audio in RAW anyway) the audio comes comes as separate .WAV files and a message comes that the metadata is corrupted!

I just can't figure out what can cause that.

I have tried shooting in different setting (1920, 1280 in 30P, 24P), using the built in mic, using Rode videomic pro. Also I don't see the audio files when I connect the camera via USB. I only see the file in the CF Card when i use the Lexar card reader. I am using a 64GB Lexar Professional 1000X UDMA7 card.

I would really appreciate if anyone had such issue or can give me any clue on what I did wrong.

Thanks.

Are you sure you don't have the HDR option turned on? HDR video will show flickering - one for high iso and one for low.

The issue has been resolved. It was due to Windows XP. When I use Windows 7, I could see the DCIM folder and can see the video files!

Raw Video / Re: ML RAW issues

Have you tried the latest build? I had a similar situation. I was trying with ML Alpha 3. Once I used the latest build then it worked.

It seems that the files were actually recorded because I can play them back. But I don't see any DCIM folder in the CF card.

That's the puzzle! I don't see any RAW file! I don't even see the CR2 file. When I shoot I get only JPEG files. I am connecting the camera and I see two MISC folders only.

I have a strange problem! I had formatted my CF card (Lexar Professional 1000X) in exFAT format using a Mac. It records regular movie or photo just fine and I can see them when I connect the camera to my pc. But when I record RAW video, I don't see the file! I see only two folders named MISC and the non RAW video and photos on the root.

If I connect the CF card via a card reader to my pc (Windows XP) it can't read. I will try it connecting to my other pc (WIndows 7-64bit).

My question is where are the raw video files? Also I couldn't find a thread/information that shows how to download the files. Can I connect the camera or I have to take out the card and use a card reader every time?

Thank you very much!! It worked!! I also was able to fix the EOSCARD issue after using the latest 1.35 version. 1.34 was giving me the ZIP format error for whatever reason.

I went through the steps and successfully installed ML Alpha 3 in my 5D MK III. I can see the overlay fine but I don;t see any option to select RAW.

The only thing didn't work was when I tried to make the card bootable using the EOScard utility. It kept giving me Zip format error. However it seems that the card was made bootable because I can update the firmware and ML shows up fine.

Any clue what I missed??

On the i(Help) menu I see Magic Lantern version v2.3.NEXT.2012Nov08.5D3113. Is that the right build for Alpha 3?

I sincerely appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry for the wrong terminology.

So if I have ML Alpha 3 in the SD card and turn the camera on I will get the normal Canon menu, right? To get the ML to work I will need to rerun the firmware update. Is that correct?

Before I install ML Alpha 3 in my new 5D Mark III I wanted to clear few things out.

I read this note,

NOTES
THIS VERSION OF MAGICLANTERN HAS AUTOBOOT DISABLED
Which means you'll have to re-run the firmware update every time you power off the camera.
It's a safety measure, so don't ask to remove it until the port is stabler

So what happens when I install ML Alpha 3? Would it boot to Canon default menu or I have to run the firmware to use the camera?

Will I have all the default Canon features for Still photo if I install the ML Alpha 3?

Thanks.

Great! Brilliant design!

Thank you so much!! So I am assuming there is another button to "trash" the files from the camera.

I am getting everything lined up for installing ML in my new 5D Mark III. I have a question. After installing ML, will I still be able to access and use regular Canon Menu?
