The ML team has done a great job with Canon cameras. I ran ML for three years on my 550d and recently upgraded to a 5d mk3 instead of a blackmagic cinema camera due to ML. However the mk3's sensor does not hold a candle to Sony's sensor in D800 or 7R. That sensor has a native DR of 14 stops without Dual ISO! It also has a lot less noise allowing much more underexposure than the mk3. If the above to cameras could do a RAW output they would blow the mk3 out of the water.

I have used this software on two diff machines successfully. Installed in on my brand new pc and it is failing to convert .raw to dng files. The raw2dng executable works but i would rather use a gui for large number of files. It just says failed no error description or number. Any idea how to fix this?

@ItsMeLenny: sorry for the late reply. Yes, I am talking about the shutter speed in video (that was the name of the topic). I have tried doing what you said, but that is the problem that I can not manage to manage.
However, I have also found out that other features started to fail, such as bulb ramping. I tried uninstalling and re-installing ML on my 60D, but nothing was  fixed.
I am wondering if there is something wrong with my camera, since it used to work before. Any comment/help will be appreciated

Go to FPS override menu and press Q to open up submenu. In the submenu select optimise for low light instead of exact fps. Done

My bad. Here is the problem I am talking about.

So I took a silent picture in movie mode and it worked. However when i processed them with cr2hdr it still had horizontal lines which i could see at 100%. cr2hdr worked properly there was no doubt about that. The before and after pic were different. I should add that I used the mac gui version 1.6. For it I had to rename the DNG file created by silent picture into a CR2.

Thanks for clarifying that a1ex. As I wrote above I tried that but the lines did not go away completely even after processing by c2hdr.

I should add to this though that when I tried this for individual frames of a RAW video I had no issues. Pretty strange.

While clearly the raw wins, I would love for once someone to post a video that actually had GRADED H264 footage.  Sharpened in post (as everyone recommends anyway) with some shadow/highlight recovery, contrast, etc. added back in.  For low contrast scenes there's not much of a difference.
Of course every time I shoot H264 I wish I had shot it raw instead.

So no Dual ISO + silent pic in pic mode and unusable Dual ISO + silent pic in movie mode? Is this the current status or am I doing something wrong? I am on the Oct 22 nightly.

Just to say I don't want to come across as a complaining type. Just asking. I have been using ML ever since I bought my 550d almost 3 years ago and recently bought the 5dmk3 instead of BMCC because of ML. Thanks a lot for the superb work. You guys are the reason I am buying canon, not canon. Keep up the great work.

The part where this workflow is failing me is when I drop the cinema dng sequence on the composition in after effects above the proxy video layer. Since the original file is longer and I have cut it to my requirement in edit the DNG sequence fails to sync with it rendering my cut completely useless and forcing me to match the start manually. I like this workflow and would like to really use it. Please help. What am I doing wrong?

The last build here was posted on June 26th. No updates since then or is there a nightly thread which I am missing?

Just did a project on that card. Was not able to do 1920 at 2.39:1 but the resolution just below that 1852x772 at 2.39:1.
