Bummer, no worries!

Would it work if I added two separate clips in to the same folder and ran it? Or would it produce some crazy results? I would test but I'm not in front of my production rig.

Is it possible to run more than one instance of Deflicker?

When I run it Bridge seems to become unresponsive until it's finished. Ideally I'd like to have 3 or 4 clips processing at once - is this possible?

So far the results on one clip have been nothing short of remarkable, cudos!

That clears it up mostly, thanks for the great responses.

One last question: Is there any way to use ACR to grade, but use CUDA to speed up the process. Resolve is super fast, but I find it not as good as ACR for my line of work.

I believe CDNG support will come to Adobe CC in June.

Not sure about that but after much more trial and error combined with some reading the culprit seems to be:

CDNG app - select CDNG 16bit Maximised & delta pink highlights seems to do the trick (trying it on another file now, but it's 30gb so it's taking a wee bit of time).

If I import it in to Premiere do I lose ACR editing capabilities though?

I have been out of the ML game for a while and trying to play catch up now.

Is it possible to import ML DNG straight in to Premiere Pro CC? I gave it a go tonight and I received pink tint.  The playback was silky smooth which was awesome, but unfortunately not usable due to the tint. I assume this is to Premiere Pro having CUDA support?

Also, is there a reason why AE CC would be tediously slow in previewing/exporting, is it because it does not have CUDA support?

Here is a reference frame to explain what is happening:

Very nice! Were you using a steadicam? If so which?
#7
Absolutely beautiful.

What steadicam were you using?

I was watching a tutorial that showed how to apply Lightroom corrections to Davinci Resolve via editing the trim lut file...

However, in my Windows Resolve version I don't seem to have a trim lut file?

Any thoughts on where it might be? Or a workflow where I can make a 'look' in lightroom then recreate it in Resolve?

Or almost done?

Haha looks like I owe someone $100 =)

I'll give it a whirl tomorrow and see how it handles. If it's a suitable fix then dmilligan has certainly earned a bit of cash recognition.

Not particularly. Do you have Adobe Speedgrade? there is a rather around the houses way of creating looks that can be used in Speedgrade with Lightroom and Photoshop. Or do you have After Effects?

I don't have speed grade - does it use GPU processing?

My poor i5-2500 doesn't deal well exporting 1000's of DNGs/TIFFS/JPEGS!

Raw Video Postprocessing / Lightroom to Davinci Resolve
November 10, 2013, 04:05:06 AM
I really can't get my head around Resolve for my style of shooting (interior real estate / outdoor landscapes).

I love RAW video > Lightroom but the exporting is ridiculously slow as it does not use the graphics card.

Is it possible to create a 'look' in Lightroom and then import it in to Resolve for exporting? Perhaps save the metadata to file?

Sorry, I have no idea if it's possible or not.

Any progress on this?

I am thinking it may not be feasible with ML RAW - perhaps impossible?

I've been out of the Dual ISO game for a while now and was hoping somebody could enlighten me on some topics.

Video Processing - is this the process?
1) RAW file on to PC
2) RAW2DNG
3) DNG's on to CR2HDR?

Does "RAWanizer" automatically do this process? It produced some non-banded DNGs that have less aliasing and comparable range so I am unsure. When the files were put straight in to RAW2DNG they came out alternated banding.

Are these the expected results?
Before cr2hdr: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mhgqe2eqkva67kq/beforecr2hdr.dng
After cr2hdr: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j22onsqq70yoq1e/aftercr2hdr.DNG

Should there be more shadow recovery in the processed version? Or am I doing something wrong?

Here is the resulting processed JPG, am I meant to raise the shadows and blacks 100%?

amidoingitright?

I'd recommend buying a 100$ plugin, (GB deflicker), or just investing in a lens with decklicked aperture (rokinon 35mm).

I gave GBDeflicker a go with no success unfortunately.

Dual ISO does not seem to be a practical solution as some rooms are very dark, some rooms have a lot of light and the difference is too great.

I don't think Auto ISO is a reality for RAW video unfortunately.

This is a premier pro plug in that could be of use for smoothing exposure change. There is a thread on this. It improves dynamic range http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=7139.0;topicseen

I've played with dual ISO and it works okay, I must be doing something wrong as sometimes the files are recognised as dual ISO files - I couldn't figure it out.
Regardless, whI wasn't sure by what was meant with 'blend them' when needed?

I'll give the plugin a go when I get a chance, not sure if it'll play nicely with raw footage though?

Will definitely give it a test run but doubtful it would work as LRTimelapse couldn't help =/

Why not shoot dual ISO and blend between them as required?
To be honest I haven't had enough of a look in to Dual ISO. What exactly do you mean by this?

Alex has promised he is working on porting post deflicker as an actual post tool, so that would solve this problem... whenever it is finished. I'm anxiously waiting for it to be done for timelapse purposes.
Fingers crossed he can pull together the goods soon! Would love to be shooting in RAW instead of .h264

Any updates on this?

Any one working on it?

As they've said before when the file format is complete and ready for the masses the tools will be also. Until then be happy with what they put out for testing.
Sorry, my misunderstanding. I thought the deflicker tool was completely separate to format 2.0 and there may have been a separate thread that I had missed :(

Yes, or better.

I'll actually move the post deflicker to a PC-based tool again (it will operate on raw photo sequences, no matter how you got them - even from Nikon).

Hey a1ex. Just following up - is there a thread that we can follow the progress of this update? Seems great!

I tried processing a RAW video, 5D3, Dual ISO 1600/25600 and it doesn't seem to have worked using raw2dng

Here is a single DNG frame https://www.dropbox.com/s/bzxlo7zkkcdemcs/000000.dng

Have I done something wrong?

Exciting stuff a1ex! Is there a thread that I can follow regarding this?

Happy to still put the $100 down once you've got it implemented ;)

Great work!

Just to be sure - Noise Reduction is set to off?

hmm can you look at the raw frames - do they have the right exposure value embeded, or is it wrong?

i know that there will be a few frames delay with the metadata.
going to fix this soon.

Will have a look tomorrow night! Keep up the great work g3gg0. This new format seems to be a great improvement, especially if Alex can implement the sidecar method that he has developed for POST FLICKER.

see some posts earlier, there is a package for 5D3

Found it, cheers!

I was hoping that LRTimelapse would help solve my auto exposure hard stopping problem, but it doesn't seem to have :/ Not sure why it's not working, I'd have thought it would have with you EXIF data in each file.
