The music is from Jóhann Jóhannsson's "Free The Mind" soundtrack.

Ah, thanks so much.
;)
I wasn't the biggest fan of the song, but that concept of the infinite screens was fun to do.

I used after effects for all my post stuff (literally pulled the files in and used the "edit original" command to adjust color, exposure, contrast, etc). My  ISO was 800 for most of the shots, but I did run a few through the Neat Video noise reduction program to clean up a few of them. I didn't use ETTR.

So this was my first real project with 5D raw. The colorspace manipulation was amazing (especially in the library shots). I did all of this in AE, so I still need to try round-tripping in an NLE. It was able to handle chroma keying WAY cleaner than any compressed footage.

Yup, it's for a music video I was doing (which I'll post shortly). Take the Roosevelt cable car at magic hour...make your own Nolan fly over shots.

Just wanted to share some really beautiful night shots I got in the city the other night. Thanks to the flexibility of the CDNG files I was able to squeeze a TON of information out of the image.

Raw Video / Re: Still have 4gb limit?

Okay it seems to be working now...only thing I can think of is that it wasn't prepared properly!

I already formatted it exfat. Could it be anything else?

Thanks! It was the auto shutdown function that was doing it originally but now that I've turned that off its still not going far past 4gb. Now it stops and says recording stopped automatically. Footer save error.
Any other ideas? Does anyone know what I might be missing??

Raw Video / Still have 4gb limit?
July 03, 2013, 09:52:04 PM
So I was under the impression that the 4gb size limit had been solved somehow. I have a 5DMk3 with a 1000x Transcend card. It's formated exFat but the camera still shuts off shortly after reaching the 4gb size (the furthest I've gotten it is a little past 5). Is there any new fix or development to dump multiple files and string them together? I thought formatting to exFat would solve the problem, but it hasn't. Am I missing something?

@peoplemere Yeah, this workflow seemed to move along just fine with 10 clips in a thing I put together. I didn't use XMl though I used exclusively the AAF Roundtrip function and followed the steps in this video. I think the order in which you execute these steps is very critical since. If you have Avid and resolve, try it out and see if it works okay.

I was wondering if anyone has had luck roundtriping from Resolve with the "AAF Roundtrip" function and using AVID to edit. I used RAWMagic to decode the RAW to CDNG, then followed the steps in this video: (http://youtu.be/8GWn3q03tqk)

This worked perfectly for me! I edited a one minute short with multiple clips and it went back and forth between the programs without a hitch. Anyone else had luck trying this method?

So I've gotten a pretty solid workflow in place that can be used to make proxies in Resolve, then export to any NLE, then roundtrip files for color grading. I personally use Avid, but this workflow would work with any NLE that you want (Premiere, Final Cut, Lightworks, etc). Here are the steps that I took to make them and two sample videos underneath.

1. Import RAW files and unpack them into CinemaDNG using MagicRaw. This is a free program made by Thomas Worth...here's the forum it's posted on:
(LINK: http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=6218.0)

2. Once you have your CinemaDNG files in the proper location, bring them into Resolve and create proxies for your NLE of choice. Export your proxies and whatever type of EDL you need (XML, AAF).

3. Bring them into the NLE and edit them, then roundtrip it back to resolve for color grading!

4. After you grade, you send out a second EDL back to the program to link it to the graded master clips. You can repeat steps 3 and 4 as many times as you need till you get your final cut!

It's a little bit of back and forth but using this method works really well for ensuring that all the clips are safely linked between programs. I did it with two videos and didn't have any problems at all. Again, my program is Avid so I promise if you follow the steps in the first video EXACTLY you'll pull it off no problem.

Here's a really good video detailing the step by step process for AVID users.

A link that lays it out in five minutes.

Two sample videos. I suck at color correction, but I just wanted to show that it works. Also, I have a 5D Mark II so the aliasing on the second video is kind of bad, but it's not because of the workflow:
