I recently bought a 5d Mk2 used for 300€ with 40k shutter count. I'm really happy with it.
Of course the first thing I did was to put Magic Lantern on it!

Here is a short clip testing the Raw workflow, I wanted to share.

I used magiclantern-raw_video_10bit_12bit.2019Mar24.5D2212 build.
1280x1248 10 bit Raw

Post production:
Davinci Resolve
loaded files with MLVFS

I also tested MLVApp, I liked the automatic hot pixel correction, but the davinci MLVFS workflow produces a lot less noise.

Happy to be back!

did a dual ISO raw test:

lots of aliasing, but the checkered and striped walls are a subject to avoid with a dslr anyways...
and I got dead pixels, did not look closer into this, any suggestions??

finally handheld HDR video is possible!

thanks so much!!

Yes it works, with renaming to "CR2"...

here is an example:

still got dead pixels, any tips for this?
the dynamic range is incredible!!!
and a lot of moire, aliasing artifacts... (I realized that i did a great moire test, too with all the small details in the walls...

thanks

unfortunately, this doesn't work for me.
I tried to extract the raw file with rawmagic and raw2dng, works fine.
than after renaming with this nice tool you linked, I can open the cr2 files in camera raw (photoshop), but cr2hdr still says "file not supported".
I tried older version of cr2hdr as well as the the version 1.1 you linked...
I'm on 60D, by the way.
any ideas?

thanks

Also, it would be awesome to have a option for extracting the bright and dark frames separately. So you can make HDR with other software, like Photomatix.
But i really like the dng cr2hdr outputs from cr2 files, you can use the fill light slider in camera raw a lot!!! so much DR, and now motion artifacts like in HDR video mode...

thanks so much, guys!!!!

Can someone please compile a mac version of the newest cr2hdr, which can process DNGs?
I did some testing with dual ISO raw recording on 60d, but can't get my hands on a PC...

Thanks so much for making my camera more fun!!!

Here are my first tests:

all @ 24fps, 2:3,5, S2 photo mode, global draw ON (magic zoom, working while recording ;)
Transcend 32gb SDHC Class 10

  960x408  -  200% to HD  -  continuous *
  960x540  -  200% to HD  -  3163 frames - 131,8s @ 24fps
1280x544  -  150% to HD  -  644 frames  -  26,8s @ 24fps
1600x680  -  120% to HD  -  225 frames  -  9,4s @ 24fps
1728x736  -  111% to HD  -  173 frames  -  7,2s @ 24fps

It's so nice to finally see the grain of my camara, and not some blocky compression artifacts!
I'm so happy with my Tokina 11-16 in this croppy days

Thanks so much to all the ML community!!! God just build a special heaven for you guys!!!

Resolutions have changed a bit in newest build.

How many buffers and what sizes do you get? These are printed when starting recording (try to grab a screenshot if possible).

I've got 31.4*8 + 23, which is huge, compare to 5D3's 32*4...

Hard to get the screenshot at the right moment. after 15 tries, i still can't get it at the right time...

I think this is 31*8 + 21

Is this the difference between 60d models?

wow 225 frames at 1600x900? are you getting more than 134 frames because of the build you are using i wonder? what nightly build are you using?

hey,
notice, that its 1600x680, not x900... 2:3,5 aspect ratio
I like it and it helps with getting more frames...
