Just observed with my 5D3, there is a LED blinks that happens when i remove the card door.

But i dont see that on my 7D.

I am facing battery drain issue on my 7D, I am using latest Nov 15 build.

Anyone facing similar issue?

This video is shot from Canon 7D, used canon 18-55 IS II and Nikkor 50 F1.4 AIS using MLV RAW.

Shot this video to test the slow motion at 50FPS, stretched frames from 1728x442 to 1728x972 time line and conformed to 23.976 FPS.

Unfortunately this did'nt looked good after fps confirmed on timeline, as panning was too slow. Later changed the timeline FPS to 50 to match to 50FPS.

Video shot completely handheld, Edited and graded in ACR and AE.

Added 40% 35mm Film grains.

I am OK to take KBs but only thing i am worrying is reliability. First impression with KB wasn't good.

Also, Do we need to stick on to 1066x is the question. how good are 1000x cards to shoot continuous shoot for 1728X972?

My pick in Lexar 64GB 1066x, or 128GB 1066x (Not sure how reliable).

I have transcend USB3.0 Card reader to work on.

I already have Lexar 16GB 800x, which can record 1728X972 RAW Video for almost 14secs.

I am looking to buy another pair of 32GIG or 64gig Cards. I am not fascinated to use crop mode for RAW video. Since 7D can max write 80MBPS. I am looking to buy 1000x or 1066x or 800x (IF it works well for continuous RAW Video shooting).

Can anyone suggest me Right card with your experiance.

I ordered Komputerbay 1066x 64GB CF from amazon and unfortunately it was defective, Benchmarks were crazy and MLV files were even not saving to the Card.

My Budget is within $90.

Could only able to shoot Few RAW Video clips until i run out of Lexar 1066x 16GB CF.
Shot with Cinestyle PF and Graded in Adobe AE with Hooks LUT.

MLV Shot at 1280X544 at 23.976
MOV files were shot in 1080p @ 23.976 (FPS Override)

Please critic and let me know, on what areas in can improve.

Good work

133x card is too slow to write the raw frames on your CF. Remove card and switch ON the camera. It should boot. My suggestion, determine the card write speed first and then try the modules.

I archive mlv.. Easy and faster file transfer as it's a single file..

Below are the details:

Body: Canon EOS 7D
Lens: Nikkor AIS 50 F1.4
CF: Lexar 800x (45MBPS write 90MBPs Read)
MLV RAW: cropped x5 = 2048x872
Buffer limit: 5 Sec, post then frames drops

Editted in AE and Pr
Encoded and exported to: 2048x1080
Music: Creative cloud license.

Never mind, I tried another test and found it works. I think I screwed some setting last night.

will try for slower  fps soon..

Just tried FPS Override... i extracted the MLV file and frames doesnt hold the data.. all i received is vertical lines in those DNG files.

1. Is this the major thread here for 7D? developments, testing and happenings around 7D ML builds?

2. is the TL still a separate development or is it already merged with ML?

All i want to know, where are we now and a summary of ML features.

Hey guys.. Even I'm facing issue with battery drain.. I was on 26Apr build. 1st i thought issue with grip, now it seems that issue with firmware. Any fixes now?

I installed 10 jan firmware.
With kit lens and RAW video worked fine.
one things I found, Canon 50 f1.8 was not auto focusing.  Overlay under trap focus was showing wrong aperture value. It was identifying the lens but not the f value.  I had uninstall.


Can Anyone suggest where to report bugs? For current firmware?

Yes! Good and bad news ...
Bad news: Most recent version is 1.40 and pel.hu is down. Most of the time at least.
Good news: Doesn't matter. Download latest nightly, expand to disk, copy on card, run EOScard and make sure first and second boxes are marked. Don't need to click on ML icon. Use "Save", copy contents of nightly zip on card (just to make sure) and boot up cam.

I Quickly enabled RAW module and shot a 10sec video which i approx 1GB,  tried transfering the RAW file to PC, My CF card is very much slow, read speed is 1MBPs, can any one suggest, how can we increase?

I'm using Transcent Extreme - 8GB 60MBPS UDMA CF card.
