From this interview with canon:

Holding a very warm object for an extended period has the potential to result in what is known as low temperature burns.

This explains the timers, the camera can handle much higher temperatures than are comfortable for the human body.
Put the camera on a tripod or use heat resistant gloves ad you will be fine :)

Yes for sure, it would be good to know when the camera is really overheating based on the sensor and not on the timer.

The Canon 5d4 is surpassed by the sigma fp at least for me, I sold the 5dmk3 for the sigma.

I would be most interested in the r5 with magic lantern, because evf and tilting screen and usable autofocus makes it a smaller package not needing extra an extra monitor or evf.

What I would use magic lantern for is writing lens metadata for manual focus lenses and the recording timer automated.

Lets see if the Tilta fan will actuality improve things now with the new firmware

And the best news of today is that there is a firmware update we can look at :)

I think you will be surprised how fast the mobile cpu/gpu have become recently

its good enough to edit 4k footage with effects on top

https://luma-touch.com/lumafusion-for-ios-2/

And I use lightroom mobile to edit dng stills, I tested and even cdng works in lightroom mobile.

I have a apple dev licence, but that's the least difficult part ...

When compared to intel cpu the race is close ( in single core )

If you pay apple for a dev licence this does not men the app has to be payed as well.

There are many free apps on the App Store.

And the latest iPad is faster than most laptops.

But the other issues are still there, ffmpeg etc.

This one is great, if you want to focus, you can increase the sharpness on the screen

What about the lens information, can this also be transferred form the raw to the mlv?

The main problem is you can't please everyone, I mean its not a really a problem just something to be aware of.
And its great work who all that contribute to magic lantern have done, There is no single best way in my opinion, the learnings of each little step contribute to the overall

Try to find the project that gives you back the energy you need.
I know the balancing between things can be tiring.
I had to sell my 5d3 last week because I needed the money, but I still keep coming back here because Im learning so much, and also like to contribute where possible.

And I also love fact thats is open source.
