Baldand, this is quickly turning into an ultimate tool for ML users. Just want to say huge thanks for both making this awesome software and supporting it. Many people started, but many never finished and left their creations raw and unusable (I'm talking about some converters on this forum). Besides fixing bugs you add new features. Incredible! I really appreciate your, devs and simple user contribution work on this forum.

Keep up the great work and can't wait for CDNG 16bit format option.

I have my OLPF filter removed by MAXMAX. No moire or aliasing and to my eye the image is slightly sharper. Not planning to put it back that's for sure and didn't have a single problem in 2 years.

Also, I don't think James had any issues with his. It might have been someone else, since as long as I know James still using his 5D3 without OLPF filter.

There is no way people can fully help you in this forum with out raw/dng files of the issue. Please post dng file with an issue, so people can investigate. Thanks!

"There is a good case to believe that CF Cards beyond 1200x (e.g. Komputerbay 256GB) will be released in the near future.
This will most likely introduce continuous 2,5k RAW recording with the 5D Mk III at 3x crop"

Not going to happen! 1200x cards are already introduced, and 5DIII CAN NOT squeeze more than 96-100mb/s of writing speed for RAW recording. That's the camera limitation, and it's been discussed multiple times across the forum. With MLV format, and it's spanning feature there might be a chance, but I haven't tested it myself, so I can't talk about it. Maybe someone who used it can shine, and tell us whether 2.5k in 3X crop at 24fps is possible or not!?!

Do you really think it was that necessary to create 1005th thread about Komputerbay cards issues that everyone is aware off? You could've simply posted it in those 1004 Komputerbay related threads.

No shipping camera support CFast to begin with.

Even though they share the same form factor, they are in fact not compatible.

Yep! It could have a completely different protocol to begin with, which may or may not be compatible with the current generation.

So, SanDisk just announced the new generation of CF cards today at IBC with the announcement of Arri Amira, which will be using CF cards to record prores up to 200fps. CF cards will not be exclusive to Arri (I can say even more, soon there will be at least one more camera/upgrade announced that will use same CF cards. That's all).

Here is the link for more detailed info: http://www.sandisk.com/products/memory-cards/CFastPRO/

Now the question. Will ML users benefit from those speeds? No! ML users won't be able to use all 350MB/s speed, simply because cameras do not support such speed. At the same time though, I'm really curious whether it would be possible to get at least 100-120MB/s on 5DIII. Even though I still think its limited to 95-100Mb/s, I still have a little bit of hope, that maybe these cards could go up to at least 120MB/s (I'm not even talking about 160MB/s that the camera supports on the papers).

What do you think guys?

What are nightly builds?
- Nightly builds are binaries compiled daily from the latest source code, by an automatic program
- Download: http://builds.magiclantern.fm/#/

Thanks Renato. Luckily I do know what nightly builds are :) I just didn't know that you guys already released new nightly bot that Audionut was talking about.

I don't how about you guys, but I just recently saw Alex and Waldo in the bar drinking, and making fun of the guy with Nikon DSLR.

Alex let me know what to do too and I will do it. Since I'm seeing those black bars too (doesn't matter whether raw2dng converted or rawmagic converted). I've never really used 3x mode before, but not so long ago tried it and got same results as aaphotog. I can post screenshots and make even a video of the screen.
#16
I have same results/thing/issues when shooting in a crop mode greater than 2K. I didn't really freak out about it since I thought that's how it should be, right? Let me know if I'm wrong. I just cropped that black bar every time.

It is not available yet guys.

Hi guys, I am new to all this and have searched but am not finding the exact answers i'm after. So I have two questions....

1) How do i format my CF card to ex fat so i can record over the 4gb limit?

2) I just went to the latest build for ML raw 5dmk3 and am wondering if I just download the files and drop them on my SD card? Or do I have to download another ML version first?

Wrong thread! You can find all information in sticky threads in the same RAW section. You just have to look better.
#20
I'm assuming you are using SD card for ML, and also you are using latest build. If yes. Then just go to ML settings and set preferred card to CF in the card settings. Turn the camera off then on. Now, try to benchmark again.

Nope, let me explain further...
1. The card i am having problems with is the CF. not the SD. The SD has ML, autoexex and bootflag and is running ok.
2. I am able to use ML only with the SD, recording video and images.
3. the CF card is not being detected, the camera says "Replace it or Remove it" when I insert it and "Cannot Format" when i try to format it.

Try to format it to exfat in your PC and try again.

As soon as I get back home Alex, I will run the test on all of my cards, and let you know the results and screenshots.

It's a sensor issue and we're not sure what causes it. The strange thing is it doesn't affect every 5D, I've never had a problem with it. http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5614.0

Same things here. Haven't seen that issue on my camera on any builds. I have even OLPF removed.
#24
Yes it is indeed an amazing card. Luckily I discovered those too. They are on the top list in speed performances out of all the cards I have. Lexar on the second place.

Thank you both Audionut and a1ex! Now it makes total sense to me.
