General Help Q&A / CF cards rental in London?
March 22, 2018, 01:21:49 AM
Hi guys,

A friend is shooting a music video in London, and looking to shoot on his 5d iii using raw, but he will need 4-6 cards. Does anyone has any idea where he could rent them from?
Also, if there is anyone in the area willing to rent him his cf cards please let me know.

Thank you

Youtube compression covers the noise pretty nicely, agreed haha :)

Concerning the music, I was kidding since the producer is actually a friend of mine and very talented, it's just that I was always more into hiphop than electronic/dance and the rhythm was really different/complicated than what I'm used to :)

Share Your Videos / 5D3 RAW - Dance festival
May 27, 2016, 04:54:00 PM
Hi,

The video was shot for a 3 day -smallish- dance festival in Athens on a 5D3, 24fps raw. The guys wanted a linear "after video" showcasing the activities that took place, mainly intended for future sponsors, acts, etc. The song was just handed to me (from their label), not exactly my cup of tea bit I guess it works :)

In any case, someone might find it useful considering that it was shot with no added lights, practically in total darkness, with modulated mixed lighting (I had to use a flicker free plugin that softened some clips, there was no way around it, I tried every shutter speed). Shot on Leica Rs, Canon 70-200 IS II, and a Canon CN-E 85mm T1.3, which was my only option for some locations. Only used a monopod. Max ISO 3200, there is some noise here and there.

No grading, just some little colour correction. I would have liked to work a bit on the -mixed- daylight clips, but I just wanted to finish the project, the music was driving me mad  :P

A huge thanks to the ML team for everything they've done for the community.

This is old news friend (severall months old..), and too much misinformation in your post, how did you manage to get everything wrong, seriously? Are you a journalist? :)
Simeon and their team are trying their best @ nikonhacker.com, I wish them the best.

Raw Video / Re: Stupid question: RAW and HDMI
September 16, 2013, 06:23:26 PM
Well said Midphase :)

Btw @Jeffmurray62, you are not capturing raw with the atomos ninja, you're recording 8bit 4:2:2 in a 10bit prores file, if you haven't noticed the difference in post processing raw vs prores, then you probably haven't tried raw yet, which is 14bit as you said ;)

I bought two 64gb, one on May 12 and the other May 16, and they cost $106 each..$130 is quite a significant increase..

Although it's 4am I couldn't resist, just tested a 10.5GB file, everything works perfectly! This is amazing! Thanks again to everyone involved :D

Komputer Bay 1000x 64Gb
The latest raw module posted previously by Andy in this thread works perfectly in 1920x1080 with a 5D3, drops 1 frame in x1152 and several in x1180. Let me know if you need more tests with different resolutions.

@TjS

I'm using a Komputer bay 64GB x1000 and have the same issue as you. Although the benchmarks are looking good (90MB/s), and I can record 1920x960 @ 75MB/s, when I try recording 1920x1080 it only runs @50-65MB/s and drops frames. I'm using the latest (May 14) built by lourenco, I didn't have any issues with the previous built. I guess we'll have to wait :)
