Hi,  when you record raw you are  bypassing all possessing so picture styles are not applied. You have to set the white balance to the same value used when recording,  some editors read that data automatically.

If money istnt a problem I suggest buying a komputerbay 64gb x1000 and start testing, try 1880 1.85:1 as far as I remember it was conitinius.... You have to test settings, global draw on/off, card warmup, etc. in the other hand I've read a lot about lexar reliability ... I dontvhavecmy card reader, and my cards are full, perhaps if you contact me tomorrow I can do the testing with my camera.

As Far as I know ..you can't record 1920 on a 5D2 because the sensor native resolution is less than that.. (this is different using crop mode...I think) I can record continuous at 1880 1:85:1 with raw module ( no sound , global draw off), or 1872 1:2 + audio with mlvraw + mlvsnd.

I use  komputerbay x1000 64gb, I rarely drop frames.

I dont think that it will work... Real world USB transfer speed  it's about 20mb/s  + sd@20mb/s =40ms/s. I don't think that would be suitable for 1080p RAW. That without considering the programming

Hi, phone and line I/O uses different impedance... That's why most dj mixers have a switch to select the input source .. Line/ phono. I would recommend using a preamplifier or dj mixer with line out... Then you can use a 3.5 plug to RCA cable to connect from the mixer or preamp the the canera (set a low volume in the mixer output).

Regardless of that.. I think that the smartest choice would be using an external sound recorder due to the low quality of the input of the camera... Then just sync in post withe soun of the internal camera mic.

Hi, 1880x940 it's only avaible if you shoot just video, if you want video + audio you have to use MLV format. I think that the max stable resolution is 1872x940.
I use it to shot continuous with global draw ON (zebras, focus peak, etc) and NO hdmi monitor.
To shoot continuous with An hdmi monitor I have to turn OFF global draw.

I use komputerbay 64gb 1000x and transcend usb 3.0 reader.

Raw Video / Re: Raw video on 5DMK2

I'm a passive reader of this forums....   And I hate when people comes saying that ML had ruin their shot or something like that... It's experimental software (that works) provided for free, documented and with a forum filled with users experienced, workarounds, etc... What do this people expect???
As another user had posted beafore, it's unthinkable to go to the field without testing everything first.
Sorry.. I ve needed to say this.

Hi, is it there any build that allows MLV to record 1880?
Also...has anyone had problems using lower sample rates on mlv_snd?
I'm using audio just to sinc my track while editing .. So I don't need CD quality.. I need just a reference. But when I hit stop there's a red message sain something like the audio failed to stop or something .

Thanks!!

General Help Q&A / Flip image on LCD display
December 06, 2013, 04:17:39 PM
Hi all!! i've used to shoot using a Canon 600d...i ove the flip screen...expecially for low angle shoots. Now i have a 5D mark II.. i love it... the DOF, IOS, Fullframe, etc etc...but the fixed LCD screen is killing me.. i think an inexpensive solution would be looking the lcd though a mirror...  something lik this...mirror -->   \ | <---LCD obviously using the correct angle...  the problem is that the image would be upside down...  Is there any way to rotate the LCD display wit ML?   THanks!!!!!

General Help Q&A / Re: Background noise with H2N & T3i

Did you set the input gain to manual? Can you upload a sample of the audio with noise?

I've thought it would never end  ;D

Mmmmm as I understand it... When you set the parareters and press the shutter button the mirror and curtain comes up and the sensor get exposed for the specified time upon set... In that time the sensor collects light . After the curtain close the processor use that information to process that information to get an image. Faster shutter speeds give you  frozen pics,  slow shutter speed  gives you blur on moveing objects. With video is the same thing but the curtain and mirror remains open, the sensor "start and stop" each frame at the specified rate.

This is how I understand it...  I'm not an specialist or anything

What's the point of this video? This is not a 4k raw attempt... Just footage scaled to 4k....I guess YouTube views??

Light flickers at certain rate depending the power source and type of light. You can play with the shutter speed to eliminate it .. But I that specific type of shot I think u can't, u can only reduce it because there are to many type of light sources.

Please don't take me the wrong way, I was only suggesting. English it's not my primary language so I could been misunderstood .

Shot with Magic Lantern RAW

Boring... Raw doesn't make a video Great... You can make a great video using Raw, and some other important stuff. I would filled that club with people ... Or used closer shots so the place doesn't look that empty or "fake". If only 1 location is avaible try changing angles .. Not always the same.

I think the easiest solution would be attaching a borrowed/rented Ninja2 to record any quality footage in parallel to review the shoots and even send the output to an external monitor for the director.
