General Help Q&A / Sticky DOF not working
April 15, 2013, 12:34:13 AM
I've got a 550D and ML 2.3, and the "Sticky DOF" setting doesn't appear to be working.

The DOF key remains as it is. There's not much more to it I guess.
How to fix?

General Help Q&A / Rack focus not working
April 15, 2013, 12:20:53 AM
I've got the 550D with ML 2.3 running just fine. I've updated by old ML installation *just now*.

I can't get stack focus to work. When I highlight "focus end point" it says "SET: change value" but pressing SET does absolutely nothing.  "ZoomIn+L/R" I don't quite get what that means. I suppose ZoomIn is the round button topright on the back of the camera, but what's L/R mean?

Anyway, just to be sure I'm not missing anything, I went ahead to "Rack focus" with a little yellow triangle next to it. It says "SET: run action". So I press SET and there it is! Nothing. Also, "Trigger mode" is set to "Press PLAY". Assuming PLAY is the button to switch between camera mode, and image viewer mode normally, that's what it still does, so that doesn't work either.

What's going on? I'm sure this has been used by someone at least, so how come I can't get it to do anything?

Holy cow, that *is* easy.

Full respect for the first person to think of the way to do this. And thank you very much for pointing it out.

And now other people can use the search and will find this topic, showing my gratitude to indicate that it does indeed work :)

I have never used this feature, because I cannot imagine how to postprocess it. Focus stacking in the menu says something like "greater DoF while keeping bokeh". It sounds pretty sweet to menu, but how do I postprocess the frames in, say, Photoshop to achieve the promised effect?

Is there a tutorial somewhere that you guys would recommend? Or is it so super easy you could explain it here?
