[...] and from what I can see nobody seems to be keeping ML up to date with these new releases. Which in my opinion is a bad thing to do, since ML will be loosing out on a growing audience.

Yes. It's my case. I no longer have a 650D. Just one 70D. And I'm no longer using Magic Lantern.

I'm wondering if I should sell my 700D and work on the 70D IF you guys could make up the difference between the 700D-70D price range.

I liked the idea.

Anyone else?

Same boat here, so much more cam than the T4i and 60D, but still feels crippled without ML...

Same here. My 70D has arrived today.

It's awesome. :D
But... no Magic Lantern. :(

you mean just re-flash/re-update the official 650D v1.0.4 firmware over it?

No. To uninstall Magic Lantern from the camera (remove bootflag) you need to run firmware update with this file: magiclantern-v2.3.NEXT.2013Aug03.650D104.zip (at first post of this topic), and then change the shooting mode from the mode dial.

QuoteUninstalling ML from the camera

With a Magic Lantern card, launch the Firmware Update process and follow the instructions on-screen.
Re-installing Canon firmware will not remove Magic Lantern.

My 650D is with a strange symptom for a couple of weeks: When I turn on the camera, sometimes the display does not turn on. Everything works (flash, autofocus, shutter, photo, etc.), but the display just does not turn on. But after about 30 seconds (this may vary), the display turns on and no longer fails.

It also happens without card in SD slot (In other words: without Magic Lantern). I've reinstalled the official firmware, I already removed the magic lantern (turned off the bootflag), and the problem continues.

That does NOT seem to be a hardware failure, it seems to be something abnormal in boot.

Is anyone else having this problem?

anyone having / had same issue?

Same thing here. ISOless PH err(2). Sometimes I can make dual iso work, but most times not.

Hey, is there any way to install this on a 64gb card, or do I need to go to 32 or less?

Yes, there is a way. Search for "Installing Magic Lantern on other cards" here: http://www.magiclantern.fm/install.html

Guys, it's working here!

Thanks nanomad, satriani, a1ex and all development team of Magic Lantern! It's really awesome!!

P.S.: The "ISOless PH err(2)" is also appearing here. I do 'reboot' a few times until the message leave the screen.

On a side note, 650D will support proper dual iso. Say hi to as much DR as our friends at nikon :-)

This is great news! :)

Please don't take pictures of a cap, use a well exposed book cover with hard edges and high contrast then also check for small pink green dots around the letters. If you think you found a good candidate post the DNG

Oh. Sorry, I didn't know. Thank you for explanation.

Anyway, I repeated the test, and all 100 options seems not good to me. Ugly spots in all DNG files.

Who wants to do some pixel peeping for the 650D?

https://www.dropbox.com/s/8gkifgx2lwwq2rx/650D.104-RAW_TYPES.zip

Download that, replace the files on your 650D SD card. Enter Movie Mode, go to the debug menu and click on "Don't click on this!"

It will start taking 100 frames, might take a while. Make sure you keep your camera on something static so you can pixel peep properly.

Once it has done you should have 0000-0099 DNG's on your SD card. Go through them all (I recommend light room) and find the BEST one out of them all, report your findings REPORT THE FILE NAME of the best one you've found.

I tried.

What I did: with lens cap, I clicked on "Don't click me!". So I get 100 unexposed DNGs. I opened it in Adobe Came RAW, and add +3 EV in EXPOSURE, so I can see the dots. I looked one by one, and for me they all look not good. So I export a 867x579 pixels (50%) version of each in JPG, and uploaded the zip file (with 100 JPGs). Here is the link (file size: 23 MB).

I think I found a BUG: in "Image review settings", the function "SET+MainDial" does not work. When I try, the camera jumps 10 images. It used to work in older version (1.0.1).

Another thing: 600D and 700D get (today) the feature "Dual ISO". I hope it come soon for 650D. :)

Question: Is there or will there be a shortcut to ISO on the 650D? Maybe I'm just missing it.

Yes, is there! 650D has a button called 'ISO':

Does anyone can confirm me that PicoC scripts doesn't work on ML 650d for 1.0.4 ? (Doesn't work for me)

I can confirm. Scripts don't work here.

Everything works here!

The process only works on my 16GB and 32GB cards. For my 64GB card I had to do different.

Thanks!

I was a happy person with Magic Lantern on my 650D.  :)

I had a problem with the sensor of my 650D, and I sent the camera to Canon. Now (two months later) my camera came back, without the problem, but with the new firmware (1.0.4). Now I am a sad person (without Magic Lantern).

:(

I think I found a [very] little bug. In play mode (viewing images from card) if I press SET button (to preview exposure fusion, i.e.) the touch screen stops working. If I simply go to photo mode, an return to play mode, touch screen returns, no need to reboot.

P.S.: That didn't bother me, even a little.

- [???] FPS Override not working properly. I need a confirmation by more than one guy

I tried with 2.5 fps (from 24), in 1920x1080 pixels. Something like two minutes (in real time) has been recorded. It worked! (It's awesome!)

Then i tried with 0.15 fps (from 24 too), 1920x1080 pixels too. Something like 10 seconds has been recorded. Apparently worked, but when I stopped recording my 650D locked up. It causes 'Err 70' and saved this log (CRASH00.LOG) in my card:

P.S.: I tried to make some HDR Videos too, and it's working fine (I tried in 1080p24 mode). I used the HDR Workflow (HDR-workflow-051.zip), and everything is ok!!!

I'm running PreAlpha2 here on my T4i. It's working, and I'm happy! Thank you, Nanomad!

Here is the benchmarks of my cards:

Guys, we can follow a little of what's going on here:

I've been following this topic from the beginning, my friends about how much is still left to wait ML?

Everyone here is dying to have Magic Lantern working on 650D. Me too. But unfortunately all we have to do now is wait (and don't bugging developers).
