Hi, a year ago i bought a Komputerbay 64gb CF card. it didnt work and it was not accesble from my win 7 PC. Amazon returned the cash and they didnt even mind of asking me to return the card.
Now i bought a macbook and surprisingly it could format it and the card now can be used in both pc and mac.
the problem is that my 5d3 still shows a message asking me to format the card and when i try it it says "Cannont format , change card1".
Question: is there any low level editor or trick i can do for getting the 5d to read the card?
Thank you very much in advance.

Raw Video Postprocessing / 50% smaller DNGs in Resolve
November 22, 2013, 03:33:27 AM
Hi, First of all sorry if this has been fixed, I read the whole "The CinemaDNG Discussion" but couldnt find the answer to this.
Hi, i read in that threadf that DNG is a container with several resolution files inside (subimages).
My problem is, once i import the files into Resolve 10 they are imported in a seemingly lower size format, there are no thumbnails all the people is seeing (i think)
Just to give an example: i shoot anamorphic 4:3 in 1728 x 1288 and when i open the file in resolve is 864 x 644.
Is there a way to open the full size in Resolve or should i use ACR which opens the right resolution?
Thanks,

Apparently Resolve 10 got rid of the purple sucker.

Hi guys, ive installed the dual iso distro on 7/19 and, for some clips i am getting this error in the raw2dng conversion:: "Bright/dark detection error"

    if (is_bright[0] + is_bright[1] + is_bright[2] + is_bright[3] != 2)
    {
        printf("Bright/dark detection error\n");
        return 0;
    }

Looking at the code it seems that the algorithm finds clipped brights in both ISOs and returns with an error, but im just guessing.
Is there something i can do to save those videos since raw2dng is leaving the frames "interlaced"?
Thanks!

Same problem here, i detected it in resolve, it gets more evident after some color correction.

What's the best configuration to format/align a 32gb exfat btw?

The card finally died. Sent it back to Amazon.
I have a lexar 32 gb 1000x now and works flawlessly.
I just saw a nice article of a guy who filmed the "First professional short film to use 5D Mark III Magic Lantern raw" and Komputerbay didnt help him either.

–We ran into a lot of trouble with CF cards. I had purchased 2x 128gb, 2x 64gb and 2x 32gb KomputerBay cards for the shoot and half of them didn't work for more than a few frames right out of the package. One of the 64gb cards was usable but I found its record speeds to be inconsistent. Between each full minute take we always had a 200ish frame take that would drop a frame and quit. This was consistent with the card.

My 5d3 is not recording with a SmallHd DP4 attached, I use a Lexar 1000x 32Gb.
Is this a hardware limitation or there's some hope? :S

Thanks guys but im afraid that the build that caused the card to not work anymore was precisely an ExFat compiling in the computer.
Another test i did: connected the card reader in my old win xp laptop and it doesnt recognize the card either (either in exfat or fat32). The only way to read the card seems to be via my Windows 7 PC.

Same problem here. 64gb 1000x fat32 formatted. I tried windows / mac / linux and all have problems reading my card. (tried 2 different card readers)
writing the card in the camera seems to go fine...
How do you manage to formar a 64 gb with FAT32?
Windows only allows me ExFat and NTFS.
#18
Nope, let me explain further...
1. The card i am having problems with is the CF. not the SD. The SD has ML, autoexex and bootflag and is running ok.
2. I am able to use ML only with the SD, recording video and images.
3. the CF card is not being detected, the camera says "Replace it or Remove it" when I insert it and "Cannot Format" when i try to format it.

Hi all, I have the inverse problem, the card is not reading in the camera and reading fine in my PC. Anyone with the same issue here?
Here's more details.
I installed ML with a my new 5d3 and a Komputerbay 64GB that i bought for the occasion and did very well in benchmarks.
but...
After am exfat format in my PC the card is not accesible in the camera, it cannot format nor even access it.
The strange thing is that the card works perfectly fine in the computer via the card reader.
I also tested the 5d3  with another old Sandisk 64 mb and works fine,
Is there any test i could perform before returning the card? Should I uninstall ML?
Thanks in advance!

Sorry wrong thread. Id like to remove the post but dunno why.

already said in 7D thread: doesnt look good. if ever, it will be the last one due to massive technical problems with dual digic.
I worked as a C programmer for 8 years. Is it a big learning curve to get familiar and deal with the dual digic?

Sorry guys...  :-[

Oh man, this is exciting!
Any chance that my good ol 7d can handle this?
