Wasn't there already a tool for that, RAW2MLV?
#3
Nice one! Was it all handheld?

Apparently, your camera has to bee freed from other activities in order to take full advantage of spanning - GD should be fully OFF, hacked and it should be 1.1.3 with no hdmi output used.

Why's that? Most of us use spanning in order to use GD and peaking or zebras (for example) and have it all working smoothly...

YEsssss!!!
p.s. That was just a spontaneous reaction to a1ex's post (and not hjfilmspeed's)!

Going FPGA way may be time consuming so the cost may go high. The time is the key factor in this era, cams that uses CF become less, CFast will dominate, so the need for this adapter may disappear...

Well, 5DM3 and friends are not getting a CFast anyways :D so maybe you should go for the FPGA if you have the know-how, time, etc...

@ibrahim, do you know if the pre's on this one are better, compared to the original DR?
I have the original and sometimes it's a problem with a NTG2 and sounds that are far away or close to you, but low in dB.

PFFFF... No comment!!!

I speak from experience, and i believe it's mentioned in this thread: MLV (spanned) works a lot better (stable) on 1.1.3
This alone (and a few other) could be the main reason we'll end up having different branches 113, 123, etc...
I don't know what cards you got on you, but 1.1.3 is probably going to work better than 1.2.3.
Nuff said :) ?

And another one! Props to the devs!!!
#11
Testing it right now and it's as good as it gets!!!
#12
Hey chmee, please, don't leave out spanned MLVs, when(ever) possible :)))
Cool new update though!!!

@igor-lm this thread is a few days old... what do you expect, and @ItsMeLenny is right, why create a poll outside ML?
anyways: +1, and you should really go the prototype route

Feature Requests / Re: Light Trails mode

dmilligan just stole my whole response away :)

This one "little feature" might never come out :(

We'll just have to wait and see what 5Ds will be all about, but it'll not be a cheap one!
So back to your topic: 5D2 still being used out there for what it's worth, but for me personally... higher FPS was the main difference.
So it's up 2 what you do or want to do with it...
#17
The Axiom will be a thing of beauty, but he might need a bigger piggy or a bank loan: external monitor/recorder is already a few hundred + the body which will not be cheap...
I'm thinking 5DMIII's soon will be hit by a price drop due to Sony's, Samsung's and GH's... so unless you go for a all-new body, second hand M3's will be cheap very very soon. Think fast who u wanna sell your MII to ;)

@zniv, please remove your own post and READ/SEARCH before you hit "New topic"

Yeah, this one is a must! I thought it's a setting just for the 5DM3 & M2 ( as well as 50D ), but it's good to know it's also valid for the 7D
#21
hmmm, will try that and report back :) and for the black level in cam, i'm pretty sure it is ON since whenever g3gg0 implemented it, will double check though

P.S. the simple fix did it!!! a thing of beauty :) thanks a ton, and btw i'll be using your tool a lot, so if you need material off a 5dm3, i'll be around

Hi all, i though its about time i try raw2cdng and Davinci Resolve. Now this here is off of 1.6.5 and there's something totally wrong in what i'm doing, could you please shoot me :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPEn2kjDWvA

Five different exports:
1st (far left) - 12bit maximized
2nd - 16bit with chroma smoothing ON
3rd - 16bit with vertical banding ON
4th - 16bit with highlights fix ON
5th(far right) - 16bit (all fixes are OFF)

Those 5 were imported in Resolve 11.1 with just Color space changed to BMD Film and Highlight recovery On (which didn't do much)... pretty much nothing else!
#23
what were your final export settings like?
#24
Maaaan i miss this tool! Not that i ever stopped using it, it's just that it could be improved further, A LOT :(
