I'm also searching for a good wide angle lens for astro photography (for my 60D). A friend of mine bought the Tokina 11-16mm. Over Christmas/New Year I'll see him again and I'll do some testing.

If u find good test results about the lens, pls share it

The Canon 10-22mm only have f3.5-4.5.

For a fix lens the Sigma 10mm f2.8 is quite good.

The Samyang (Walimex, ...) are not very good with f2.8/f3.5 ...

I did on a old IXUS 30, log msgs are nice. But I'm not a developer, so it's just gambling around.
