Raw Video Postprocessing / Re: MLVProducer: [v3200]

See feature list on first page: lj92 support.

No, happened to me yesterday: https connection dead but http working. Then both off. Then back to normal.

3
Photo mode refers to "normal" stills camera operation (mirror down, shutter closed, framing using eye piece) *and* liveview using display for framing.
Liveview is not exclusive to movie mode.

And of course there is no way entering liveview without mirror going up and shutter opening. But in Silent Pic mode your shutter won't close after taking pic and mirror would not be actuated.

Does EF 50/1.8 II report focus distance to cam?
EDIT: Checked, it does not.

Digic 4/5 based cams encode H.264/JPEG by dedicated silicon/chips and not by running some code on multi-purpose CPUs. Take it as an educated guess MJPEG is processed the same way.
"Not totally out of the question" might be added by "Do not hold your breath".

Another test run.
Error message at the end refers to last script line which doesn't say much:
Code: [Select]
api_tests()Log doesn't help, either: After line "Please switch to Movie mode." there is a blank line. That's it, folks.

Made a crappy vid using cheap smartphone starting before switching to movie mode. Will add it here.

Photo mode tests (most of them) are completed with cam set to factory defaults. Still interested in assertion failures during photo mode?

Cam closes console soon after terminating the script in movie mode. Will retry tomorrow to get the number.

No luck running script with lua_fix 1.0.4 and EF-S 10-18 STM mounted. Trying next one.
EDIT: EF 50/1.8 STM takes some time for photo tests, too. And test terminates soon after switching to movie mode.
Where to go now?

@a1ex, dmilligan: Any chance to splitt api_test.lua into one part for photo, one for movie mode?
And adding some beep loop when asking for user interaction?

Running your 1.0.5 and experimental for 1.0.4 without lens mounted results in stalled cam with red led on. This is last line for 1.0.4 build: "src_malloc_suite => 13da30".
Don't own an adapter with focus confirm working with 650D. Will retry test with experimental lua_fix 1.0.4 and faster (hopefully) lens.
Screenshots will follow.

On par with saulbass now. Using dfort's latest build for 1.0.5 cam is able to finish photo tests. Crashing after switching to movie mode, too. Desperately resetting all Canon settings to factory default before last test run. Should have tried that before ...

Looks like you have face tracking turned on. What happens if you choose another autofocus mode?

Hum--what's an "Introvolometer" ??

See source. Some strings deliberately spelled wrong for testing purposes.

Try old-fashioned SD-card, not SDHC, SDXC. 512MByte/1GByte should be fine.

General Help Q&A / Re: Seriously thinking about getting Magic Lantern

Cannot agree. I looked up some ML-related threads there and I could not find any official staff member commenting on it. Replies come from the community and those talking about things they never tried. -> Hearsay and badly digested infos from 2nd hand repeated, mostly. Short: FUD, unintentionally.

Points to joak for checking facts.

Basics about ML/riscs/warranty: -> Top of page -> User Guide ->  FAQ
1200D/T5 download -> Top of page -> Downloads -> Download Nightly Builds -> Ports in Progress -> 1200D / Rebel T5
There you will find a link to 1200D forum thread, too: http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=12627

1200D development status is "port in progress". So not yet matured to "nightly build". There is no schedule in ML development.

Personal opinion: T5 seems to have a rather limited SD-card interface (25 MByte/s?). Therefore not that well suited for RAW recording which has quite demanding bandwidth requirements: 14-bit uncompressed 720p24 = About 37 MByte/s
Not covered in latest experimental builds (lossless compression/4k_crop), either.
Suggestion: You will be able to record short RAW clips with T5. Sufficient to check RAW quality and workflows before thinking about switching cams.

Got me a used 100D/SL1 for about 170€ lately. Awkward battery life but lots of fun with latest developments.
Owner of 7D, 650D, too: All running ML, various builds (including experimental) without serious issues for quite some time.

Remove battery, remove card. Format card using cardreader.
Insert battery. Startup cam.
Q: Does it work?
A: Yes -> Shutdown cam, insert card, startup cam. Report back.
     No -> Report back.

No way. At least: Not at the moment and don't hold your breath.
Top of page -> Downloads -> Download nightly builds -> Scroll down
