General Help Q&A / Re: Canon EOS Rebel SL3
« on: Today at 06:56:12 AM »
ML project does not have any kind of schedule, release dates, milestone. Work is done by people on their own if they have the skills and - critical - time to spend.

If you start to aquire skills required we may see an early ML port for SL3 around 2023.

Please share untouched image. Which method was used to focus on stars?
Additional info, please: Filters attached? If a mount adapter was used: Type and type of lens attached?

But why? For what purpose? Uninstall/reinstall will just disable/re-enable cam's bootflag and toggle card's boot ability. Don't see how this will affect stripping. Please explain!

I smell snake oil ...

then uninstall (install and wait 60 seconds) and reinstall.
Why?

5
Lowlevel format card in cam and retry.

Please run benchmarks with cardreader connected to your computer first. Both cards.

Not sure which card you are using. Lexar lists a "Lexar Professional 1000x SDHC/SDCX UHS-II" card with 150 MByte/s labeled but for read speed only. Cameramemoryspeed tested the 128 GB variety and it had a maximum speed (without overclocking) below 96 MByte/s.
There are at least two varieties of Lexar 1066x. One with premium write speeds (quite close to theoretical write performance) and another one not that fast.
I strongly recommend testing them with a decent cardreader.

No, just wanted to express it would be a first here = ML community. Don't know if SD overclocking with UHS-II in UHS-I mode was ever tested somewhere else.

Would be a first here: UHS-II card in overclocked UHS-I compatibility mode.

Only every 3rd line used and build-in AA filter designed for photo, not video: Sure, aliasing galore! VAF recommended.

I suppose you were in un-cropped mode (1736 horizontal resolution)? Have you tried crop mode?

13
First step: Format card in cardreader. Second: Format card in cam.

Proceed from here with
Top of page -> Downloads -> Download nightly builds -> 5D Mark III 1.2.3 -> Installation -> Installation -> Method B.
Follow instructions to the letter.

If unable or an undocumented error occurs: Make a video of your installation steps and link it here.

14
Just to please my inner cat.

15
Please do not crosspost!

16
Follow instructions described as "Method B" to the letter!
https://builds.magiclantern.fm/5D3-123.html -> Installation

If you still have troubles: Record your steps with another cam (smartphone is ok) and link video here.

PS: No idea why you are trying 1.2.4. There is no ML for this version and it is not part of the installation instructions!

17
Sorry, unable to understand your problem.
Please tell which firmware version is installed and shown in Canon menu.

Nightly Builds / Re: Nightly Builds - try the very latest stuff here

How is a build with 7 tested items and 7 passed tests any better than a build with 8 tested items and 1 failed?

Why not just crop it in post?

ML never had a crop mode in photo mode other than silent pic.

mlv_play is required to playback mlv. Hence the name.
You haven't mentioned which build you are using ...

It makes no sense to ask every few weeks. It should be totally sufficient to check here twice or thrice a year. "To check", not "to post".

24
Boy! This was the first question I asked!
RTFM!

Top of page -> User Guide -> Install Guide -> Installing Magic Lantern on other cards

25
Reinstall ML.
