I have just bought a new 5D3 with firmware V1.3.3. How do I downgrade to V1.2.3 please. Where can I find the firmware ?

Just curious to know why Magic Lantern download link for 5D3 nightly builds has a choice of v.113 and v.123.

If one doesn't want to upgrade firmware to 123, will the latest 113 version ML have the same old problem of permanent bootflag etc.

Oh. got it, thanks.

I was checking the Shutter Count on my M. It showed 2K and then shutter counts and LV actuation. Then, what is the correct shutter counts. What is LV actuation ?

Maybe a stupid question (I usually ask them)

But I note that one of the ML tweaks is "Auto ETTR (Expose To The Right)" - well at least according to the homepage of ML it is. But I can't find it anywhere? Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Are you using the nightly build ?

Click on the link to find out the development. It seems that the developer has been away for quite a while. Do not expect too much. Just keep shooting.
Cheers.

I have just purchased a "eye-fi Pro X2 16g". I wanna try installing a ML nightly build on it to work on a 600D. What is the best way to get it done ?

Anybody who have the same combination please kindly share your experience.

Feedback :  Just for sharing.

I have finally made up my mind to give it a try. Installed the 2.3 stable version onto the eye-fi card then made the card bootable by EOScard. Tested ok.  I then upgrade it to the nightly build (w/o raw video).   Haha, eye-fi pro X2 16G with magic lantern nightly build is now working on my 600D. Cannot believe that it is so easy.

Any advices from the smart people here ?

Are there links discussing about this feature please ?
#14
I follow the instructions but it shows only change of focus point and not the patterns. Can anybody help please ?

Or is this feature not available on 600D ?

Consider to switch to 50D/550D and install ML to play with. The price drop of the 40D since last year was a significant amount(from $350 to $250 on the Craigslist in Canada) and so are the other two mentioned here. 40D is good but the other two are equally good in some other aspects.

Anyway, don't waste time waiting, just go out and click, click and click.

Alex is right about it.

But is there an easier way to do it for the majority who may not know how to do with the source codes. Is there a simplified version with only a few functions e.g. intervalometer, auto WB control etc. to start with. I think most 40D owners will agree to pay to finance the development.

Any thoughts from the supporters of this thread.

I have just registered just to post here and give you a thumbs up.

Great effort, I have been long waiting for somebody to port ML to my 40D.
It would be great to be able to record video and many of the ML features in photography, like focus peaking, advance bracketing, focus bracketing, etc.

I am seeking for any news about it.

Please keep trying and thanks for your efforts.
I will pay for the firmware as soon as there is an early versiĆ³n.

I am afraid you will be disappointed. Come back in six months and see if I am wrong.

Sounds good. Now more developers will be jumping in to explore the world of 40D ML and help to make our dream come true one day. I will not be selling my 40D definitely. I may be able to get $300 for the selling of it but keeping the camera and keep coming back to this thread everyday is like waiting for the birth of my baby and it's a lot of joy and fun.

Thank you guys.

I think that once the problem of LCD is resolved, we can say that we have the ML running on 40D :)

Be patience, ... we still have much work ahead!
Good job. I am waiting.

Really hope that canon will have similar product for my 600D. Don't know if it can be modified to work on a canon body. Btw, may be a diy is possible too.
