Aha. Gotcha. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but how do you record in 10 or 12-bit RAW video using the latest ML build (2017-08-07 00:12) on the 5D Mark III?

In retrospect, I guess that would require converting to a different codec, which, of course, isn't something Magic Lantern does at this time.

How about capturing footage at a higher bit rate, but with h.264?

I remember running a version of ML on my 5D2 -- way back when -- which allowed you to capture footage at a multiplied amount of the stock bit rate.

Is this feature still available?

I love the RAW capabilities of ML, but need something more managable at this time.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section, but is there a way to capture footage at higher-than-stock bit rates and colour spaces with Magic Lantern on the 5D Mark III, or is it RAW or nothing?

For example, if I wanted to capture footage at 100Mbps / 4:2:2, is this possible? And if so, would someone let me know how I could achieve this?

Bought a FlashAir, but need an up-to-date card reader, as the one I use is too old. Any recommendations?

Interesting.

How about the Toshiba FlashAir SD cards?

Just as the title says. :)

Will Magic Lantern run on a Wireless (Wifi) SD card on a 5D Mark III?

If so, which wireless SD cards are compatible with Magic Lantern? And will performance differ in comparison with a dedicated SD card?

Looking to get a Wireless card for the 5D Mark III, and would prefer not having to get a separate, dedicated SD card -- as well -- for Magic Lantern, if at all possible.

OK, cool -- many thanks.

What do the "Flush every" and "GOP size" settings do when in VBR mode?

I couldn't find these covered in the user guide.
#9
If not, is there anywhere I can read up on Magic Lantern's VBR settings?
#10
Makes sense -- Thanks for the clarification!

If it's not asking too much, would you be willing to explain each option in the VBR menu, what they do, and what settings are recommended for whatever scene types?

Many thanks for your reply, 1%.

Interesting that CBR isn't actually fixed on Digic IV.

So I'm guessing VBR is the way ahead for maximum picture quality on the 7D, right?

And excuse the ignorance, but what does "qp" stand for?

Is there anywhere I can find detailed instructional documentation on the differences between CBR and VBR, what their parameters / sub-settings are responsible for, as well as how each setting should be configured when shooting with the 7D?

It confuses the heck out of me... ???
