I was hoping for a workflow to be able to just have the 14bit raws in premiere and to color correct them there and then. Almost nearly every workflow ends up being a round trip back to resolve for the finale grade, i i want to skip and do in premiere.

Which i suppose if i can grade in DNxHD 444 10-bit in premiere that's still better than h.264 i guess.

So yea it turns out that you can just import the .dng file straight into premiere but i'm not convinced this is still 14-bit raw.
It looks a tad worse than the DNxHD 444 files and it color corrects no better.


I don't have a decent computer and i hear a lot about how intense this 14bit editing can be... it's not laggy at all. It's as fast if not faster than h.264. Which makes me not convinced that i'm not editing in 14 bit. In fact to be completely honestly with you. Apart from the RAW images Dynamic range (brightness from darkness) and sharpness.

It color corrects no better than h.264 I must be doing something wrong.

TLDR: Is there any way i can check premiere setting to see if what i'm editing is actually a 14-bit sequence?

Hello what i'm asking here is simple stuff, just wan tto rollout some bumps and smallish questions i have (: i just want to know if i'm not mistaken here.

Images are not really important there just showing what i'm talking about... well roughly.

1. So keeping this really short. I made my .RAW files into cinema DNG's which i then put in resolve and they are being edited at 14-bit (yes/no?)
And i rendered them into a DNxHD 444 file to premiere and i'm now editing them in premier at 10bit (yes/no?) Premiere sees them as 10bit. Which is still 2x better than h.264? (yes/no?)



2. Also if this is true i can't see much difference between the two 14-bit & 10-bit?. Is it also worth encoding into cineform 16-bit? (yes/no?)

3. I also want to know can premier edit in 14bit? Cause adobe has a plugin that imports full RED raw footage. And that's a big codec at a large bit depth, so why can cinema DNG's not be put straight into premiere.

4. Also is it worth putting the cinema DNG into a BMDfile or C-LOG/Slog2 color to then put into DNxHD 444 to then color correct in premier or would that just a make a mess?

Is that the fastest card you can get for the 60D?

Hi there.

Now this is not always an entirely bricked situwation however when ever i use RAW video on my 60D i get these results.

My photo's & video seem fine. But RAW gives me this bad result, i'm worried about maybe my sensor has ghone wrong OR maybe something els.

Important notes.
1.I use a 20mb/s card (I will get  a faster one? Maybe the cause of the problem)
2.When i convet the RAW files with RAWmagic i get this result (http://cl.ly/16163J323Q3t)
3.It only works with RAW2DNG.

Please help.

When i use RAW2DNG i get some RARE clean results but mostly deadpixels over the screen, some even in the same spots.

MY phots and movies are fine, i only get deadpixels when using RAW.

Either my 20mb/s card is just to slow for almost any raw. OR my laptop is to slow.
Mac mid 2012 laptop in case you need to know.

I used Raw2Dng instead and i have had luck. it works better and is see my footage. However my 960x384 seems to have solic dead pixels on is. My 1280x544 dose not however.

The conversion software is bad? What one should i use?

My DNG looks terrible it's all blue and bad.

Do you reckon it's my card?

All my frames are blue after i convert them with RAWmagic? Why is this?

Slow card? Have i forgot to add some settings before i record?

Good news my friend!

I installed the latest nightly build and all the menu now looks much nicer looking. And raw video is on it!

I read the links you gave me, i downloaded the latest version, i dragged the files from it to my card and i overwrited the old ml stuff and no luck other than it said "missing **** file"

Could you help me with a step by step tutorial.

Hello There. (CAUTION SUPER NOOBY BELOW)

Iv'e surfed through the internet (Not literally) to find out how to get Magic Lantern RAW on my canon 60D
Iv'e came across a few things here and there but i have had no luck, any body able to help me out in how to install/get ML RAW on my 60D.

My questions i need help on are here.
1.What's the fastest card you need to get the MAX quality out of RAW.
2.Links to the bets place to download RAW for the 60D? (http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5653.0) Is this the one? Which link on this page?
3.I tried to install the nightly build of ML but... I really don't wanna say it, but i have no idea how. (http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5653.0) Haha, what do i click on :L
