Title: Option to keep AF assist light on during photo/video
Post by: feureau on October 28, 2013, 10:19:51 PM
Option to keep AF assist light on during photo/video. Very useful when you're in the night and had no other light source, except the one embedded in your camera. It's quite a bright light, even though it's totally red, a bit of round red pic/vid is better than no pic/vid at all.

This seems a good idea to me.

I'd like AF assist for AF Servo mode taking flash stills in dark conditions.

I use back focus button and normally keep servo mode on, just remove finger when happy with exposure. I've been told this is a wrong technique, but I'm not sure why). It is annoying when I try to focus and I can't!

Ideally a switch (or permanently on?) that means AF assist will light up in dark conditions as normal and continuously when in a servo AF mode and a focus (half trigger or back button as per canon user set up)

I'm a ML Newbie so hope I'm understanding the forum etiquette correctly.
