Title: [ALREADY DONE] [DUAL-ISO] maximum ISO-value
Post by: naturalsound on October 13, 2013, 04:56:15 PM
Hi,

I did some testing with the current build on 5D MKIII:
When I let AETTR modify Dual-ISO-settings it sometimes chooses ISO 12800 etc.
In most situations higher ISOs than 1600 or even 800 (depending on camera) are not bringing any benefit.

So I came to the conclusion that adding a maximum ISO value for the recovery ISO would be really nice. I would not mind if it only was in a config file.

You can change the ISO range in the canon menu and it seems to respect that. I cut off 128K on 6D this way since on that its digital.

ISO 12800 is digital on 6d? In this case, the function MAX_ANALOG_ISO should be 6400 instead of 12800 now (in lens.h)

It must be, digic registers don't change when this ISO is selected. 5DIII has the 128K in LV/photo for dual ISO. 6D, 6400 is the last reg change even though you don't see any digital gain applied according to those (dgain) registers.
