Title: SanDisk Extreme PRO® CFast™ 2.0 (350mb/s)
Post by: Mercy Warhol on September 13, 2013, 06:31:27 PM
Looks like SanDisk announced a new card (http://www.sandisk.com/products/memory-cards/CFastPRO/).  If the specs hold up we should be able to record close to 4K (3840x2160) at 24fps.  Thoughts?

Will the card magically update the hardware in the camera to take advantage of the new speed?

Exactly, even the current crop of 1200X or 1050X cards aren't reaching their top speeds on the 5D3.

Turns out it's not the card...who knew?

It doesn't matter, no shipping camera supports CFast.

Even though it shares the same form factor as regular CompactFlash, they are not compatible.
