I'm trying to download the .bin and .fir files onto my camera but I keep receiving the following error: Cannot copy autoexec.bin "you do not have permission to create this item."
Any idea why this may be happening?
did you read the instructions on how to install magic lantern?
You activated the lock switch on your card - is that possible?

If I did I'm uncertain how I did it, unless it came from the factory that way.
Not sure how to unlock it either
Are you using a card reader? Did you format the card in the reader and then in the camera before copying the files?

You must read the install guide here: http://www.magiclantern.fm/install.html
Where it says:
Step 1. Preparing your camera..
... you will find below...
Make sure you have a card reader. This is a very common problem and hope it never happens again to you! Read the manual first!

In my defense it no where states that I must
use a card reader, just to have one. Thanks again for the help.
Noob question...what is a card reader and where does one pick one up?

Why would it state to have a card reader? Maybe, just maybe, because you need to use it! ;)
