Title: Should I use custom "flat" profile for RAW ex Cinestyle?
Post by: PeterKa on August 16, 2013, 08:38:19 PM
In standard h264 cinestyle helps a lot with grading but my question is should I use it (or FLAAT, or any other profile) with RAW (uhm just noticed im not sure CAN you use them with RAW?). 'Cause well RAW gives You so much control and information that well You just shot on stanard profile? Sorry if it's a stupid question!

RAW is raw..... no picturestyle, no compression, no sharpen.
Picturestyle is for Canon jpg and h.264-mov only.

Wich means you can adjust the picture style to have a pleasing image while recording.

Peter,

You are asking a great deal of newbee questions, nothing wrong with that. But perhaps you might consider reading up on a great deal of information that's already available.

Alternatively you might purchase Andrew Reid's book which should tell you a lot of things about shooting raw:
