Title: 700d vs. 650d: what gives?
Post by: wacru1 on July 25, 2013, 04:36:28 PM
i have a t2i w/ml. sweet.

i tried to buy a t4i, but that model is discontinued. i bought the t5i.

a month ago, ml announced "running on t5i." work continues on the 650d ml, but seems to be stalled on the 700d.

why? why continue on a discontinued camera and not its successor?

are the 650d and 700d the same relative to ml? will the 650d ml run on the 700d when beta?

this isn't a rant, just a call for clarification, as the 650d is no longer available.

So the developers should stop working on 650D while we have an alpha?
And when the 700D is discontinued the should stop working too while they made an pre-alpha or alpha?
Do you wanne have half completed ML for every new Canon?

A camera might be discontinued on the manufacturer's side but it does NOT mean that it ceases to take pictures or that is crap.
Indeed, there is plenty of people who are still buying a 650D, maybe even a second hand one, and there is plenty on sale NEW in the box.
Discontinued just means that the camera is no longer produced, which for you does not make any difference.
