I have one of these:

and also
something very similar to this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Timer-Remote-Control-Rs-60E3-Canon/dp/B003WD0IKO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1371603495&sr=8-2&keywords=remote+timelapse+trigger+eos (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Timer-Remote-Control-Rs-60E3-Canon/dp/B003WD0IKO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1371603495&sr=8-2&keywords=remote+timelapse+trigger+eos)
They are useful for time lapse and the IR trigger, I can use for triggering the normal H.264 video. I was wondering if it could ever be made possible to use such devices to trigger the RAW record module?
I am sure that it would be possible. It's not something that is critical but it certainly has its uses; like when you want to start a recording without touching (moving) the camera.
It would be great if there was some optional settings for these devices
Also maybe they could be configured for other uses?
EDIT: OK I found that the ML allows this as standard (I think) because its something that is supported with Canon's own firmware under the menu for timer record. Both of the above devices WILL work for triggering RAW record. YAY!
