Title: Beginners Guide to Compiling Magic Lantern
Post by: mk11174 on June 12, 2013, 07:33:32 PM

Hope the Devs don't mind, but I went ahead and made a tutorial to help guys like me that really want to compile by themselves. I don't mention anything about changing code so no worries Devs!  ;)

Hope someone can make use of it.

This is a thorough video that does what it says, it gets you to the point of compiling ML. Thanks so much to mk11174!

Thank you! I was looking to do this myself.. because maybe I can compile a more complete version of the 7D alpha... don't really know if it's more complete or not really.. maybe someone can correct me. (bootflag! bootflag! :) )

Hi Mathew,

Thanks for the video! This is amazing work!
Since this is an old thread, I am just wondering if this video is still relevant
as far as compiling ML for 5D2 is concerned?  I love to do some minor tweaks too :)

I actually did follow dlrpgmsvc's written instructions some time ago and got it all to compile!
Tks dlrpgmsvc for the great work too!
The only problem was that I wasn't confident if the resulting binaries were ok...   the size looked quite different
from the nightly download so I was stuck there... and was afraid to test the binaries in my camera.

Is there any way one can check the binaries for sanity so that it won't brick the expensive camera?   Thanks!
