Title: Smallest device to change Picture Style on set location
Post by: apefos on June 02, 2013, 03:57:51 PM
Hi,

Please, what would be the smallest device to install Canon Utility and connect to camera to change Picture Styles on set location.

The EOS Utility just install in Windows XP and above...

Would be great to have a version of EOS Utility to install on a SmartPhone and connect to camera via USB to change PS

Even a Java version to work in default Cel Phones...

thanks

As far as I know, EOS utility only runs on Windows, Mac and Linux.

That narrows it down to a Laptop or a Windows based tablet.  I don't think IPAD runs the same OS as the desktops, so that rules that out.

There's EOS Remote from Canon on the Google Play Store (Android), but it's only compatible with the 6D and I have no idea if it allows the Picture Style to be changed.

AFAIK, all other Canon Remote style programs (for Android) only allow changing shooting settings, not PS replacement.  I assume it's the same for iTunes.

Are you aware that you can load 3 user PS's?  I can't imagine ever needing more then that, but to each his own I guess.

thanks guys!

I also found Acer has the Iconia W5 and W3 tablets and Sony has the VGN P series notebooks.

But this app for inexpensive and small Android phones and tablets made me hope if the task could be done, it can be used in a Samsung Galaxy phone, see:
