Title: This gadget is maybe a Wireless solution to Raw video?
Post by: red5446 on May 29, 2013, 07:52:55 AM
I just saw this gadget http://vimeo.com/64769471 (http://vimeo.com/64769471), looks pretty interesting because it seems that you can connect an SSD via USB connection and wiressly.
and  it´s capable of  stream or transfer recorded video to mobile device.

Maybe magic lantern can do something with this?:

500-Image Buffer for Continuous Shooting
802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi
Data Rate: 20Mbps (2MB/s maybe not enough)
For iPad, iPhone, Mac
Attaches via Hotshoe or Tripod Mount
USB 2.0 Interface
Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom Integration

(my english isnt that good to describe it so i just copy paste from their website)
"iUSBportCAMERA turns your mobile device into both an advanced remote control as well as a wireless high resolution viewer for your DSLR camera. Allow your clients to instantly see photos on the big screen as you shoot. Also perfect for those challenging shots when you cannot be right next to your camera but still wish to have full control over it. Shoot photos and videos with live view and touch focusing while having access to all camera settings as though you are right next to it."

From their specs:

USB Port    High Speed 480Mbps, Powered 5V/1A USB 2.0 Host
Wireless    Supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n "Ad-Hoc" and "Infrastructure" Mode

480Mbps = 60 megabytes per second not counting overhead.  You'd be lucky to get 1/2 that.

Good idea though.

It loos like a cool divice, aldo the reviews say it works mostly Ok, it does seem to have its limitations. I wonder if you could control ML via this setup.

She is also very monotone and seems like shes just reading from a script. Def just a pretty face to try to move a product.

It would likely be possible, with modifications to the app (or a new app) to hook into the ML functions. If you have this product already i'd suggest contacting the manufacturer and seeing if they can add support for ML into their app, or work with ML developers to make a seperate app for ML users. The live view looks pretty cool! For the price tho, i'll skip it. ($300!)
