Title: Using Lightroom 4 and LR Timelapse templets to grade and process RAW DNG files
Post by: nicoedwards on May 28, 2013, 05:41:31 PM
I've been using Lightroom 4 and LR Timelapse templets to skip a step in processing of the Raw DNG files, think it is also a superior grading tool compared to adobe camera raw. Saves a step, give it a try!

Do you think you could give us a quick run through of the steps involved in your Lightroom workflow? I have been using the After Effects workflow that pretty much everybody else is using but would love to be able to use Lightroom to color grade instead but just don't know exactly how to go about that.

I would also be very interested in your workflow.

Thanks

I think that you can export 24fps high quality video with LRTimelapse template from Lightroom, I used them for timelapse, but they can work for raw video too.

Question. When using Lightroom and Lightroom time lapse, is the audio also included in the finished file?

I use lightroom as well to import dng files then color grade. Once you have them imported, you can adjust white balance, crop ratio, temperature, tint, exposure, clarity, and vibrance. When completed, export as a Tiff or JPEG. Once I have that done I import all the files into Premier. When I get them into Premier the first thing I do is set the speed/duration, so the resulting video will have proper motion and move them into the timeline. Once that is done, I render the clip and save it on my hard drive. I repeat this until all my dngs have been processed. Then I import all the rendered clips into Premier to edit.
