Title: HDR video by changing shutter speed
Post by: ReinisK on May 15, 2013, 09:51:53 AM
What about HDR video by changing shutter speed not the iso?
This would be another option for HDR video to choose from. That way you could have less noise in the dark parts.
The different motion blur would create some problems I guess, but it would be nice to have a choice.

I'm pretty sure I asked about this when the HDR feature appeared. From memory the frame rate cannot be switched fast enough to create short and long frames also what on earth would happen to frame frequency?
Imagine:
Short frame..Long frame.......Short frame..Long frame.......Short frame..Long frame.......

all the movement would become stroby with a weird space between the short/long pair.

Well, it's already done on cameras that supports it, but you need to compile yourself with FEATURE_HDR_EXTENDED and fix the menus.
