Title: Problem installing ML - how to tell if card is bootable
Post by: mcgillro on May 11, 2013, 01:12:00 AM
I updated the Canon Firmware prior to attempting to install ML.  The Firmware update worked ok.

I then thought I copied all the ML files over to the card, and extracted them.  I put the card into the camera and went to the firmware section - it doesn't give me an option to install.

I've obviously missed something critical.

I did follow the link to make cards bootable, but perhaps I haven't done that correctly.

Any step by step help for a newbie would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

First re-read the install instructions:
then ....

Format card in camera
Copy ML files to card
Run firmware update

Green screen confirms ML installed.

Thanks - all done now.  Can't believe I was so silly.  Kept copying the unzipped file even although I had unzipped it.  Once I realised that no problems at all.  Looking forward to a play with HDR tomorrow.

Thanks.
