Title: New Black Magic cameras announced
Post by: coutts on April 09, 2013, 03:06:35 PM
This looks promising:

- new pocket camera that shoots 1080p raw uncompressed 12-bit and costs <$1000
- new production camera updated with a new sensor and 4K recording ($4000)

This changes the game for Canon and Nikon, they're playing catch-up now ;)

Looks like they did EOS-M right. And 5d3 right too... 4k for $4k, lol.

Tempted to sell my NEX5N which I occasionally use as a B-cam and get the pocket camera. The only thing keeping me back at the moment is the cropfactor. Something like the Speed Booster (which should be released for micro four thirds soon) would be ideal, yet it's as expensive as the camera.
