Title: Rack Focussing with 50D
Post by: 114 072 22 on February 22, 2013, 12:49:42 AM
Hello fellow canon users  :)

I have been using basic functions on the ml firmware with the 50d and am now trying to get the rack focussing to work.. I have tried instructions on this site and following a couple of vids on youtube but am left frustrated trying to make it work..The vids are not specific to 50d so am struggling to find an accurate step by step guide to get this feature up and running.. Can anyone help with some guidelines please....

thanks

What steps are you taking, and where is it not working? Also what version are you running?

Please state, what exactly you're doing and how exactly it doesn't work and the version you're using. I got it working on my 50D with last year's stable versions, 2.3 and several nightly builds, so it's probably not a bug.

One of the most common errors is having the lens set to MF. It may seem logical, because you are focussing manually, but the camera needs the AF motor to focus, so it needs to be active.
