Title: capturing speed with yuv422 silent pictures
Post by: escho on January 20, 2013, 11:05:57 PM
Hello

I played a bit with still pics and I have a short question: What depends the speed, silent pictures are captured, on?

ML2.3 with my EOS600d gives me the possibility to shoot 1.5 pictures/second in burst mode (SDHC-Card class10 with 95MB/s). I tried tons of options in Canon and ML-Menue, but I didn´t succeed to get more frames per second. Is there an option, which make it possible to get more yuv422-frames per second?

Great piece of software, this ML

yes, there is a flag you can set but they just dump into dcim folder. Might be worth adding this as a feature. It was easy to lock up the camera but went much more than 1.5 fps.

It would be nice to have such a feature  :)

I just updated to the nightly build magiclantern-v2.3.NEXT.2013Jan21.60D.550D.600D.50D.500D.5D2.1100D.

With this version I´m able to shot 4 frames/s in continous mode. Thats really great.  :)

One question for my understanding:
The silent pictures are captured from the liveview-buffer. That means, silent pictures are always captured with the aparture fully opened. Right?

Switch to movie mode to set the aperture.
