Title: Possible to use multiple monitors while recording?
Post by: hirethestache on November 20, 2012, 03:25:59 AM
Been looking around for this feature for a while, haven't found it yet. Is there a possibility to shoot using multiple monitors on 2.3/5D2? It'd be great to have my recording preview on one monitor, with all my ML tools on another (such as zebras, focus assist, audio, etc...).

Anything out there?

It is possible to use multiple monitors using either an HDMI splitter (one cable between camera and splitter, a cable between splitter and each monitor) and or by looping through one of the monitors if it supports it (one cable going into one of the monitors, another cable going from the first monitor's HDMI out into the second monitor's HDMI in).

Needless to say, you will always have the same picture on both monitors (i.e. not possible to have tools visible on one but not the other).
