Post by: lenningrad on October 08, 2012, 12:00:50 PM
Hi all

Here's a short music video preview produced for The Hidden Revolution and their new EP, Useless Noises.

Shot with 550D, 18-55 Kit, ML, and Cinestyle
Edited in Premiere CS5
Coloured in After Effects

Thanks!

Nice work. The cuts seem a bit random and not all in line with the rhythm.

Thanks!  :) Yes i didn't want to cut too much with the rhythm so it didn't get predictable but maybe i could have a bit more to give it a bit more feel..

Of course you are free to make your own artistic choices. But it is my opinion that in music videos the audio is the leading part and the video should enhance the music by rhythmic cuts. Guide the viewer by putting accents on key moments in the song that are important to the band/composer.  Like when a new guitar jumps in show the first played chord. Adapt video mood to changes in the song mood. If the band displays a lot of energy on stage. Bring that in and show how the band expresses the song on stage.
