Title: Memory Card Compatibility with Canon 5D Mark III
Post by: PaulHarwood856 on May 05, 2021, 03:21:09 AM
     Hello ML Community,

Does anyone know if the SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO UHS-I SDXC Memory Card is compatible with the Canon 5D Mark III? Here is a link: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1499695-REG/sandisk_sdsdxxy_1t00_ancin_1tb_extreme_pro_uhs_i.html

Is it worth purchasing the 170 mb/s or should I purchase the older 95 mb/s model? I'm considering SD card overclock but am also wondering if a faster card will playback H.264 proxies with sound.

Any help on this would be great. Thanks.

It's SDXC and therefore compatible.
But we don't have any data about card's overclocking ability and durabiltiy. Nobody knows anything about controller type. (If somebody knows: Please correct me).

BTW: Yes, $/GB is best (ATM) but do you really need > 4.5 hours footage stored on a single card?

Come again? It sounds like "Will this fuel additive enhance my parallel parking skills?"

Hello Walter,

Thanks for the quick response. Ok. I was hoping a faster SD card would playback sound with H.264 proxies. Are you saying a faster card will not make a difference since proxies are low quality and don't require fast cards?
