Title: Raw footage confusion
Post by: fguerrero on December 21, 2020, 03:47:57 AM
I was searching the web to find some info on this, but I couldn't find a straight answer, so I decided to ask here.

I've seen people saying they use the Canon 5D iii to record 4k raw video. I currently have 1.2.3-crop_rec_ firmware installed.

I go to movie in the ML settings (with crop rec and mlv lite or mlv rec both on), I go to crop rec mode and select 3.5k 1:1 x5, and then zoom the camera to x5, then back in the ML settings I select raw video and try to choose the resolution, but the highest it allows for more than just a few seconds in 2560x1320.

How would I go about to select higher resolutions? Is it as simple as getting a faster card? I didn't think the 5d was capable of writing that fast no matter how fast the Cf card allows.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.
