Title: Using old canon 7d and 5d 2 for live streaming with magic lantern
Post by: darylbyrne on July 01, 2020, 11:32:13 AM
Gday

I have searched but cant find this so sorry if its a double up.
Im new to ML.
I have a couple of great old cameras, 5d 2 and a 7d. i want to use them to live stream with Black magic ATEM mini or mini pro.
when I HDMI out from live view, i cant seem to get image on OBS or other software, and when I have on some basic streaming software, I cant see the live view on my camera, which makes it hard to set shots, especially if you are moving the camera off tripod.
Does ML have any help with this? both the constant live view on the cameras and the connection to ATEM issues?

thanks

D

If you stick an Hdmi into these cameras then the liveview will cut off. ML has no fix for that.

But you can use the 5d2 and 7d as a webcam through usb though using this method: https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=24968.msg226442#msg226442

or buying something like sparkocam.
