Title: Long exposure in live view
Post by: ethaniel on December 09, 2019, 10:07:50 PM
Hello!

I would like to do a live broadcast of the night sky. For this I am planning to use a DSLR and grab the live feed via an hdmi cable.

Is it possible to set an exposure of 5-15 seconds and see it live on the screen (and hdmi) as it happens?

So let's say the first second would be very dark, but the live image would get brighter and brighter.

And if i was filming a road for example, the car light traces would appear and dissappear as they happen and would be exactly 5-15 seconds long.

I guess that the camera would require a huge buffer for this.

If it's not possible with DSLRs, I wonder if there is a separate device with hdmi-in and hdmi-out that could do this from a live feed.

Somehow related feature discussed earlier: https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=7047.0
Some Olympus cams do have a feature called "Live Bulb". Just do a web search, lots of links and videos about it.
