THE HILL | Canon EOS M RAW w/ Canon 24-105mm F4 L | Magic Lantern RAW Video

More of a fictional look this time with the EOS M  ;D...

Here is another video put together a day ago with the Canon 24-105mm F/4 L & Canon EOS M RAW. It was a very contrasty sunny day this time :) I aimed to give it a "fictional look" as this is what I felt was best for the mood and the story. Reminds me a bit of the movie "No Country For Old Men". *Opening Shot was @2.5K RAW Max Resolution 16:9* Love the IS from this lens and have owned it 3 times in the past with the 6D & 5D3.

Gear:
Canon EOS M w/ Magic Lantern RAW
EOS M "Run & Gun" Rig Setup
Canon 24-105mm F/4 L
Metabones EF to Ef-m Speedbooster
Generic Gorilla-pod
CPL Filter 77mm
Tiffen Black Pro-Mist 1/4
FOTGA Variable ND 77mm
(All stacked together)

Settings:
MCM 1080 Rewire/2.5K RAW Opening Shot Only [16:9, Max Resolution]
16:9 [2.35:1 Letterbox added in post]
ISO 100
23.976 FPS
1/48 [Image Fine-Tuning & Shutter Lock]
Graded in MLV App - used Bicubic Spline, 100% Sharpen, Alexa Log C & Wide Gamut, upscaled to 2.8k [16:9] w/ prores 4444 and then exported in a 4K Timeline in Final Cut [FCPX], All graded in MLV App nothing in post.

First, thank you for sharing.
I was very surprised to see the Local ML forum and EOS M hero didn't have any comments or feedback under his video. There is lots of good info there on settings.

My favorite scenes were
The opening one
0:37-0:56
1:13
2:06-2:13

The Coloring of this video is not my particular cup of tea, but you were going for a certain style and sometimes it doesn't appeal to everyone.
The Canon 24-105mm F4 L is the most underrated L lens in my opinion and I believe it's a decent travel zoom with canon colors. The Sigma Art is newer and optically better, but it's almost 3x more expensive on the used market.

Zeek, I hope you enjoy your spring season, I have to go prepare for looong winter!

Hey LittleBig M, thanks for the feedback. ;D
I agree with the favourite scenes haha..Yes, I went for a different look again from the norm, a more fictional look. I do always, however, prefer a natural look.
The 24-105mm L is definitely a nice travel zoom with great colour. The reason perhaps why it is underrated is probably because of the slow aperture (compared to Sigma 18-35mm f1.8), the barrel distortion @24mm & the softness @105mm. But this all brings character into the footage I feel.
Yeah Sigma ART are expensive, but they're definitely fantastic! I'm testing out a fantastic budget FD Zoom, the 70-120mm F/4 Macro...Love it!
Thanks, summer is on its way for December...Not sure where you're located, but winter should be nice in New York. As they say..Let it snow! 8)
