i loaded up a video i made early this year as an experiment with dual iso and reprocessed it using my new workflow for aces+rec2020 (thanks luther!) and it was another incredible surprise!
all i can say is WOW!
it was so easy and it looks so beautiful! there was a shot i rescued (the vine swinging beside the tree) that looks so amazing now, and it was so easy!
aces + rec2020 is seriously incredible.

That's some deep blacks... Lovely! :)
Nice. I like the fire image.
Indoor scenes has a shift to magenta in highlights, but everything else is good.
Have you tested crop_rec? You always upload in 1080p, so... this might be another step to get better image. Also, uploading to youtube in 10-bit with Rec.2020, as youtube now supports it (https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7126552?hl=en) (there's also this tool (https://github.com/youtubehdr/hdr_metadata#drag-and-drop-app-for-mac-os) for mac os).
Didn't you show this very video or in similar years ago? I recognize that fireplace! 8)
Gotta love how you combine Dual-ISO together with ACES + Rec.2020 in post.
The blacks are so unreal and feels very authentic. Very well done on this one @70MM13!
i actually shoot everything (except this one) at 3072, and then drop it to 1080 for uploading. unfortunately, i only have cellphone internet available here, so i need to keep filesizes small. it will have to be this way for the foreseeable future :(
i notice people talking about overclocking the card bus on other cameras. i wonder if it can be done on the 5d3? it would be so awesome to shoot at 3840...
@ master jedi, thanks and yes, you are right, this is an older video, but wow what a difference that colourspace magic makes!
it's very exciting!

@70MM13 How do you manage to combine the crop_rec resolutions with ISO 111? I can't get any of those to work when iso_regs are enabled... :o
tim, i wish i had a helpful answer, but i'm not doing anything special to make it work.
i just use any standard crop_rec build and then add the modules for iso regs, etc... it just works.
wish i could help but that's all i've got to offer...
Ha! You must have a magic build! ;)

That's good to know. Thanks for sharing the links @Luther!
Perhaps MLV_App should be reckon under 'HDR authoring tools' from within HDR_metadata re: YT uploads. Ha.
